Also, Adam Sandler and Matthew Perry have the combined talent and screen presence of a naked 80-year-old woman on crack! God, I hate these dudes!

David Schwimmer - As if our weekly exposure to Ross of FRIENDS weren't enough, he's in two made-for-tv war movies (BAND OF BROTHERS, UPRISING), where he's obviously miscast. The guy is Ross no matter what he does.

Ben Affleck - Instead of digitally erasing the WTC towers from movies, digitally erase this guy from all his movies. That would be one sure way to improve Hollywood.

Chris Tucker - I know he's only been in one movie, RUSH HOUR 2, since he made RUSH HOUR years ago, but that's one RUSH HOUR too many. He may be the most annoying non-talent working in movies today.

Bruce Willis - THE SIXTH SENSE was a great film in spite of him (it helped that he played a smaller than usual role), but the mediocrity of UNBREAKABLE can be blamed largely on his weightless acting. And I'd rather stick needles in my eyes than to suffer through another smirky performance in what seems like one big smirk of a movie called BANDITS.

Kevin Spacey - Watching him self-indulge by croaking up a Beatles song at a fundraiser made me realize how much I dislike him.

UNBREAKABLE=COOL MOVIE.

I'm sorry EBastard, but Brad Pitt in my opinion is one of the most UNDERrated actors out there. His talent is astounding, but is he ever recongized for it, no. But anyway, I would have to go with Nicholas Cage, Keanu Reeves, Ben Affleck, Helen Hunt, and Russell Crowe.

I haven't been too impressed with David Schwimmer myself although I did enjoy Kissing a Fool. As for Freddie Prinze Jr., I still say that if he would start choosing better movies he could go somewhere. Ofcoarse if that ever happens depends on whether he ever realizes that noone watches his movies anymore. I mean really, when was the last hit he had anyway? I disagree with just about everyone else, although Chris Tucker can be funny (as in Rush Hour 1&2) and really annoying (Fifth Element). And for those that mentioned Russell Crowe, just watch The Insider for proof that he can act.

1. Leonardo DiCaprio (has yet to impress)
2. Val Kilmer (has this guy ever really been that good)
3. Freddie Prinze Jr. (no range; what in God's name is Sarah Michelle Gellar- a teriffically gifted actress- doing with him)
4. Keanu Reeves (his blankness worked in "Speed"; it's embarrasing in everything else)
5. Kevin Costner (he can be servicable in the right roles, but he'll never win an Oscar for anything other than directing, and he shouldn't have even won that)

1. Freddie Prinze Jr.
-Nuff said

2. Russell Crowe
-great in The Insider......didnt deserve OSCAR for Gladiator....no respect for the homewrecker

3. Jim Carrey
- I like his dramatic work but whoever said he was funny was a crazy person.

4. Chris Tucker
-a $20 million man after 2 flicks, annoying as hell.....plus he's very arrogant

5. Leo DiCaprio, Brendan Fraser and Jason Biggs
-ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!

James Logan

1. Val Kilmer
2. Heather Graham
3. Freddie Prinze Jr.
4. Leonardo DiCaprio (good, but not THAT good)
5. Carmen Electra (all that SCARY MOVIE talk...just cuz she has nice boobs)

QUENTIN

Tom Cruise -Great in Magnolia, Born On The Fourth of July, Jerry Maguire, Eyes Wide Shut, Interview With The Vampire

Brad Pitt -Great in Fight Club, Se7en, 12 Monkeys, Snatch, Interview With The Vampire, Kalifornia

Val Kilmer -Great in The Doors, Tombstone, Heat

Matt Damon -Great in Good Will Hunting, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Saving Private Ryan, Courage Under Fire, Dogma

Ben Affleck -Great in Chasing Amy, Boiler Room, Good Will Hunting, Dogma, and of course...he was the bomb in Phantoms, yo!!!

Ben Stiller - Great in Permanent Midnight, Zero Effect, Your Friends and Neighbors, Flirting With Disaster

Kevin Spacey -Great in Se7en, American Beauty, Glengarry Glen Ross, The Big Kahuna, L.A. Confidential, The Negotiator, Hurlyburly, The Usual Suspects, Swimming With Sharks

Nicolas Cage -EXCELLENT in Leaving Las Vegas, Great in Red Rock West, Honeymoon in Vegas, Bringing Out The Dead, Wild at Heart, Birdy

Russel Crowe -Great in L.A. Condifential, The Insider, Romper Stomper

Ewan McGregor -Great in Trainspotting, Moulin Rouge, Shallow Grave

Jim Carrey -Great in The Truman Show, Man On The Moon

Owen Wilson -Great in Bottle Rocket, The Minus Man

Man, disliking a person, and saying an actor has little to no talent should be separate things. Almost all of the actors here have been GREAT or atleast very good in atleast one or two movies, these guys may have had bad roles/movies, but most are at the bare minimum average actors...

Quentin - this board is about overrated/overexposed actors. No one's claiming--I know I wasn't--that the actors mentioned aren't any good. They're just either overrated or overexposed or both.

I was going to start a thread of my own on this topic, but then I remembered the SEARCH function, and came across this one. It's interesting to see people's choices on overexposed actors from two/three years ago.

Nowadays?

Ben Stiller
Owen Wilson
Orlando Bloom
Mark Ruffalo
Vince Vaughn

With the exception of Bloom, I think all these actors are talented. But it seems like a new movie starring one of them comes out every month!

1 name quickly comes to mind, Ben Affleck. I see alot of you guys have put Leonardo DiCaprio as overrated, if anything I think he is underrated. He has never been great or flashy, but he is consistantly good. I think a perfect example of him being underappreciated is Titanic's 13 Oscar nominations and none for Leo as best actor. Now I am not a Titanic fan (L.A. Confidential was MUCH,MUCH better) but if a movie is going to dominate the Oscars with 13 nominations you would expect one for the lead actor of the movie who was very good in it.

1. Orlando Bloom - Oh how I wish somebody would wipe this no-talent hack of an actor away (yes, LOTR was great, but I'll be damned if I say that he was 'good' in the movies)! Hollywood would be much, much better without this rat lookin', artistically dreadful, detestable, one note pile of joke.

2. Ben Affleck - Bennifer was enough exposure, but this guy has ALWAYS been oversxposed IMHO. He ISN'T a good actor by any means, he has no screen presence, he has no good looks, and nearly no range. GO THE FUCK AWAY!

3. Owen Wilson - He just doesn't impress me in his dramatic works, and in his comedic roles he's SO terribly UNfunny.

4. Jake Gyllenhaal - I don't get the appeal. I just don't get it. Honestly, I've never actually been too impressed with his work in films. In a lot of ways he's like Tobey Maguire, both chooses impressive scripts to work with but give rather bland, uninspired performances.

5. Keanu Reeves - If anyone looks up the word 'wooden' in the dictionary. This man's name would be imprinted there. He was the perfect choice or the lead in The Matrix, a role that merely required him to look "cool" and "kickass" on screen, without any need of good acting

as of this moment...

Hillary Duff
Lindsey Lohan
Julia Roberts
Ben Affleck
orlando Bloom
Jennifer Garner
Jennifer Lopez (I think she's a decent singer and actress, but she 's way too overrated).
Nicole Kidman - I was never impressed with her acting abilities (just my opinion)
Jennifer Aniston (I do like her but just like J.LO, she's way too overrated)
Jake Gyllenhall - I haven't really seen anything too impressive
Kirsten Dunst

No he ISN'T. it's all about his looks. gah. he's a great actor, i think.

EL_PHANTAZMO, don`t you know that Helen Hunt is an actress, not an actor!

Errr. Actor is also a unisex term.

My list:
Orlando Bloom
Kirsten Dunst
Dave Chappelle (still love the guy to bits though)
Julia Roberts (still like her though)
Kate Hudson

I think Brittany Murphy is gorgeous and sexy but she doesn't start doing good movies again I'm going to have to give up on her. Fortunately her next movie is Sin City and that looks fantastic!

Another person who I like but is in danger of killing her career outside of the X-Men franchise is Halle Berry. First Gothika and then Catwoman? I hope she actually starts reading the script before she excepts the part.

I haven't seen Vanity Fair yet, but unless it's any good then Reesee Witherspoon is also in this category.

Yeah, I have to say I like nearly if not every single person listed here. Heck, even Hilary Duff. Mind you, I have no idea how much range she has an actress because she keeps playing the same damn part over and over again. But she has real star presence, is very lovely and is very likeable and appealing on screen.

I also don't understand the hate for Orlando Bloom. I thought he kicked ass in The Lord of the Rings movies and was solid in Pirates of the Caribbean and Troy! And I look forward to him in Elizabethtown, working with one of my personal favorite filmmakers, Cameron Crowe! And Crowe is always a good judge in talent. He's always able to get great performances out of everyone!

I will say Angelina Jolie would've been on my list, except I think she's redeemed herself with solid turns in Life or Something Like It (hey, I enjoyed it) and the fun Tomb Raider 2 (first one sucked but this was alot of fun IMO!) and Taking Lives (not saying it's great but I was entertained enough and she was good in it).

Another thing: How can Freddie Prinze Jr. be overrated and overexposed when he hasn't had a hit since the first Scooby Doo and due to his poor choices, his career seems to be over?

since actor IS unisex, my top 5 would be:
1. Kirsten Dunst (with the exception of Interview With The Vampire).
2. Angelina Jolie (she's ruined Mr. & Mrs. Smith for me). But I am so there for my man Brad.
3. Ashton Kutcher. (no comment)
4. J. Lo. (I own The Cell, but that's merely because of the rest of the cast and a unique movie making style.
5. Kate Hudson. ( pure example of a 'celebrity daughter success syndrome'.
