What do you think?

I haven't heard of too many things that only victimize the perp that I think should be illegal.

I've heard that lots of stuff like drug use, prostitution, etc. actually victimize all of society by contributing to a decline in morals, but I'm not so sure that is a good enough reason to spend billions of dollars, and put the lives of so many cops at risk. If you want to teach people morals, it's a bit late. That money should be saved for schooling.

Come on schmoes. What's the score on this?

. It reminds of a case over here where a guy put together a directory of prostitutes in the London area. They threw the book at him for corrupting the moral something or other...It always smelled of bullshit, there wasn't any real grounds for the case, but he was still punished.

I'm tired and rambling. Does it show?

This reminds me of a George Carlin quote:

"We live in a country where, in the army, you get a medal for spraying napalm over someone, but you go to prison for giving someone an orgasm."

Not that I think prostitution should be legal; that might help spread the flow of diseases.

Or, if it is legalized, they'd have to change "prostitute" to the new euphamism "Escort," and they'd have to be trained professionals who always use protection. Well, at least if we look at them as professionals then society won't look down their nose as much at them :D

Bah, I still wouldn't hire one...

The sun should be illegal. It causes cancer and car accidents, hurts your eyes, raises tension, makes you smell, it's falling, is too big, yellow (ewwwww....), will burn out eventually anyway, and disappears for really no reason at all.

Craziness, I tell ya!

I won't have it!

Humanity should be illegal. We're the ultimate weapon of mass destruction...

I think I jumped out of bed the wrong side this morning ;)

The law should be enforced most stringently when it infringes on other people's rights. If their safety and security is at risk, then the law is pretty important. However, politicians would have you believe that everything is bad for you and a "threat to our national security" and/or "immoral". It's funny to me, because every year on a radio station here hold a contest to take someone to the Moonlight Bunny Ranch, a legal brothel located in nevada. It seems to make a lot of people happy and of course the ranch makes money hand-over-fist (no pun intended). Eventually, I see the U. S. legalizing certain recreational substances as well as prostitution. Hell, gambling was illegal for years. Now, casinos are hauling in billions each year. And state lotteries aren't doing so badly, either.

Hmmm. You know, I've always thought that we should do things like the Vikings. Not the raping and pillaging part, but the legal system: They had men called Lawspeakers, who would recite one third of the established laws each year, from memory. If the Lawspeaker couldn't remember them all, they had too many laws, and got rid of a few.
