For actor, I'm going to go with Robin Williams in Mrs. Doubtfire (8/10). I love that movie.

For actress, I'm going to go with Hilary Swank in Boys Don't Cry (7/10).

She played a man and did such a good job that she took home an Oscar for her performance.

Does Johnny Depp in PIRATES/CARRIBEAN count? If not, then Guy Pearce's PRISCILLA-QUEEN OF THE DESERT character was the prettiest. When he pops that Ecstasy pill and begs for an Aussie gang-rape, he actually looks like B-movie actress Shawnee Smith of THE BLOB remake fame!

Hilary Swank in BOYS DON'T CRY was quite a transformation. Although my sentimental favorite for Best Actress that year (1999) was Annette Bening in AMERICAN BEAUTY, Swank deserved her Oscar!
