La Dolce Vita is about a reporter (Marcello Mastriannio...or however u spell it) and many long nights where he is bored by life. He has wild parties and many women, but it is all depressing for him (like Holden of Catcher In The Rye he always seems to be depressed). And after a close friend commits suicide, he begins to get very depressed, but unfortunately he simply like many cannot change and keeps going on the way he used to. It is kind of strange, but very kool. And has many MANY great shots, and is second only to 2001 in it's brilliance and beauty. This may sound confusing and a bit boring but (like 2001) it is always entertaining even if a bit slow at points, and it is all worth it. It is one of my alltime favorite films and my #1 foreign film. Fredricco Fellini was a master, and will be missed.

Also if you do like it I recommend Fellini's followup 8 1/2, or if anyone loved 8 1/2 I suggest you see it's predecessor. Screamer I think if you go into this with an open mind at try to absorb it all (which you wont bre able to do in one sitting) you will enjoy it a lot...also hope you don't mind subtitles.
