Sam Raimi is a great director. I feel he is doing an awesome job with Spider-Man. If some bizarre accident were to mysteriously befall our great director, who would be a great replacement? What touches would these other director bring to the films?
For example: M Night Shyamalan, Tim Burton,Christopher Nolan, Steven Spielburg,Robert Rodriguez,Quentin Tarantino....ETC

All of those would be great! (Except for Rodriquez, QT is too weird IMO)
But Id wager on Jim Cameron (remember, he was signed on to do it when it was in produiction hell)
If you look there are pcs of him on the net at the spider-lab set where Peter was bitten by the Spider, so he was reeealy close. (Although I didnt like his script)

Here is Cameron's shooting script (http://www.hundland.com/scripts/Spider-Man_Scriptment.txt) courtsy of da' best site JoBlo.com
I only read the first couple of pages so far, it seems darker and Peter acts more like a 17 year old than Raimi's film, the Goblin is also not the villian.
I don't think Cameron could have put the youth 'kick' Spider-Man needs, Sam has it with his style that represents a younger generation.

Hmm, I was thinking of a different one, one where Peter doesnt even shoot webs. I think he swung like once, and it was from a rope.
But now that my mind is refreshed, I still dont like it.

That might have been an early draft. I remember hearing that the only thing the actual film had that was also in Cameron's script was that Parkers web shooting was a biological mutation as opposed to a mechancial web shooter in the comics.
