'Dodgeball' Star Vaughn Says He's No Jock

LOS ANGELES - At 6-foot-5, Vince Vaughn has the build of a basketball player. But the actor admits he's no jock, and even threw his arm out filming "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story."
"I've managed to be thin but not have a muscle on me," Vaughn told reporters. "We had a masseuse down there - so humiliating - we'd have a masseuse rubbing me before takes."
The "Old School" star eventually was able to revive a childhood passion for the schoolyard sport depicted in the Ben Stiller comedy, which debuted last week at No. 1 at the box office.
"It was fun playing it because it's a bit of a bear, that sport. I'm not embarrassed to say that I really got into it a lot, playing dodgeball, because it's very spastic," he said.
In addition to the arm injury, Vaughn said he suffered dodgeball-induced pain in his legs and back, but you'll never hear him complaining about the rigors of filmmaking or fame.
"I'm very thankful that I'm given an opportunity to do what I love to do. My father was the first one to go to college, and I have relatives who have had much harder experiences than learning how to be famous," Vaughn said.
