I was just wondering, it seems like all my Exgirlfriends always hated it.

On a scale of one to ten, it's -1298198390182903123.
I could care less.
Y'know I've been pondering this myself. I love horror movies, and most of all I love Halloween Horror Nights (Check out the Halloween Horror Nights thread to see what that's all about). Anyway, there's this girl I like back at school...I have plans on, erm, "persuing" her and one of my fears is that she won't share the interest I do in both horror and HHN. Now, I don't consider myself an absolute horror fanatic like most of the people here, but I do take a lot of interest in universal classics, nightmare on elm street, scream and others. Around Halloween time I go into full-on horror mode, however...I'm just hoping she'll be compatible.
On to the question at hand...I don't think it's important. Relationships are suppose to help you grow, and maybe finding someone that doesn't like horror movies would help one grow out of the child-like fascination of horror, and perhaps you will help a signifficant other grow out of whatever they've been clinging to since they were younger. But that's just my personal opinion. Some people just get together, and don't even touch each other's hobbies/obsessions/interests. They love each other and they feel that's all that matters.

It wouldn't hurt. As long as they respect your passion for the genre, there's nothing to gripe about. But if any of the female horror schmoes lived across the street, a marital reception would be in order.

It's not that important but I would like to have a guy who would sit down, watch them with me, and have fun.

It is very important to me, because it is such a big part of my life. I was once with this man who did not like them, put them down and made me feel like an asshole for watching them and he always tried to be so logical and he was so stupid, he always said MST3000 would be better without the guy and the robots  . HE WAS A FUCKER! MADE ME MISERABLE AND IF THAT WAS NOT ENOUGH, HIS COMING HOME WITH A BAG FULL OF PANTIES IN HIS SIZE TELLING ME HE WANTED TO BE A CHICK SURE AS HELL DAMPENED ANY DESIRE I MAY HAVE HAD FOR HIS SILLY CONFUSED ASS!:o
Anyway it was his computer I used to meet my husband on horror chat! :D
I would have never married anyone unless they had a love and respect for horror and thank God he does. It has been the best three years of my life and counting! To share something with another besides just sex is fucking great! How cool is it that his idea of date night tonight is to take me to this theatre to see Return of the Living Dead! www.trashfilmorgy.com

Hell, I already have a hard enough time finding a girl, I don`t need to add MORE limitations!:D
Besides, I dated a girl who loved horror, and we ended-up not getting along at all.
Just because two people have similar interests doesn`t mean they`ll be a good couple.

It's just a bonus. There's more important things to look for in a person besides taste in movies....but it just so happens my girlfriend is as obsessed as I am, that that's a first and it just gives us another thing to do together.

I think it's only important that I love her and she loves me. ;)
I really don't care, because a lot of the time horror movies are more fun alone. It's nice to sit down together to watch a gsm sometimes, though.
Oh yes, my girlfriend does like horror movies.

Most women i have been out with were not horror 'fans' bar one who used to buy me zombie and halloween videos (she was ccol). Most merely put up with my taste in movies.
Buy sometimes passions are passed on. i have noticed in the 5 years my younger brother ( a real dedicated gorehound) his vegitarian, my best friends wedding loving girlfriend now cites 'my little eye' and 28 days later as her fav movies. Although she did find 'love object a little distasteful, well so did i but was that not the point

Nope. My husband isn't into horror, but he respects that I am. Also, the occasions I get him to watch a horror movie with me (I only pick "good" ones for him since I am a B junkie myself), he is pretty thoughtful about it and will talk about it afterwards. His favorite he'll watch whenever I put the dvd in is J.C.'s Vampires. The fact he doesn't demean the genre or my interest in it shows me he's open minded.

I can watch them with or without her, doesn't matter. She's cool with my taste in film, though she makes flippant remarks here and there. But I've never held back on any of her Lifetime for Women movies bullshit either.

I just read this and felt so good to know stories like this, mine is not so different, the deal here is that my girlfriend wasnīt even into movies at all, so i got her into Horror, even if she gets scared of practically everything...and i mena everything...she is even afraid of statues, busts and stone carved into human and animal forms, she just gets scraed by them..i guess she has a great imagination cause she says some might come to life and get her...anyway, shes a good girl...she diggs horror now and loves to get into all horror movies and rides with me all the time, sometimes she gets too scared and dont accept something but i understand and its o.k...Its cool when you share the love with your partnet...100%, plus she gives me horror movies and more as gifts....i just love her.

It's my other half that got me into the bloody horror genre. I've always had time for horror, but most times when we sit down to watch a flick, she prefers to watch a scary one OR an attempt at a scary one. I still reckon I've got better taste than her though. You just know that when it's her turn to pick one and she comes over with a giant cartoon-looking rat on the front with the title "RATS!"
Get back!

For a serious girlfreind, i prefer it when the girl knows her horror movies (and music too). I find it's a pretty big turn off when i ask a girl what her favourite film is and she says "love actually" or some other bollocks with hugh grant in. Not too important though, i'd still shag her. :)

It's not that important, but it is a major bonus if they do. Mine doesn't like them at all. She says she doesn't understand all the senseless violence - saying that she only likes it when it's done tastefully, or is absolutely relevant to the plot i.e - most gangster films.
I showed her a clip of A BLADE IN THE DARK - the infamous bathroom scene, and she thought it was terrible and didn't want to see it!!! "People getting shot I can handle, but not a girl getting her face smashed into a basin!!!!" LOL :p
Personally- I think they scare her but she doesn't have the balls to admit it.

As for my fiance and myself we have an understanding. I have my horror movies and she has her Alicia Silverstone movies. She knows I will under no circumstance watch something like that and she doesn't care. On a positive note she loves certain types of horror. She loved Wrong Turn and the Texas Chainsaw re-make. If it's less then 10 years old she'll eat it up. The frustrating point is that she hates older horror movies. She never gives them a chance and says they're boring. When your gf or fiance likes a remake more then an original you know there's something wrong. I just bit my lip because I know she's just not the type of person to like classic horror movies and appreciate them for what they are.

I wish I could find a girl who liked horror. My ex used to not like horror but she would at least watch it until I had her watch Friday the 13th. She was cool with it up until the last scene on the lake where Jason jumps up. I actually think she farted that it scared her so much.
My gf now hates horror. I was trying to watch Amityville 2 on AMC last night and she kept moaning and bitching so I made her leave the room.

I think its important. In my case, horror is my favorite genre. I like and respect most all genres, but I enjoy horror the most, and watch them a little more often. If I found the right girl, got married to her, and had a kid, I would want to pass on my horror tradition to him/her. Imagine if your wife, or husband, didn't like horror (but loved you anyway), and didn't want you to pass on your horror tradition, and wanted to keep you from spreading it? Now, that's where having a partner with the same/similar/respect in horror counts, and what you should keep in mind.

I need my partner(girl or wife) to be my best friend...to be my lover..and to be my partner in crime...Horror is a big part in my taste and life..and if she chose to be ith me she would have to adapt...not just dont gimme shit but to actually adapt and have fun with it and like it...and my son or daughter should be the same....I respect everyones own decision but if you can try and get near someone with their stuff they personally like they could get throgh me with horror(Movies that is).

I dont wanna say that a Girlfriend/Boyfriend liking Horror would be crucial to a relationship, but it definately wouldnt hurt.
I assume most people want someone to not only be their lover, but their best friend, and a someone that they can share anything with. Without having to worry about being judged or ridiculed.
I personally enjoy watching Horror with my special someone, and knowing that we could possibly discuss the film hours after its over. Because we are good like that, and have similar interests. I see that only as a very healthy part of a relationship.
Again, I dont wanna say it's a must, because relationships can thrive even if the two people involved dont exactly agree on everything, or even have the same interests. Because it can.
But it definately cant hurt.

I've dated those that didn't and those that did and for me personally, it is a BONUS if they share a love of the genre. I have been married exactly one year and 18 days and though he is NOT as into it as I, he has been exposed to it and respects the newsthings he finds with it. I mean I look at it as a plus that he going to this Sci-Fi /Fantasy Con with me this weekend dressed as Robert Haff (a/k/a Bruce Campbell as old Elvis from Bubba Ho-Tep)!!!
As for me, I have now been exposed to huntin' and fishin' and lots of Nascar.............oh well......

Yes, I agree especially when there are stinky unkept
pussies running around and going to Walmart on the weekend gives you proof of that with every passing lingering odor!:o Some girls just do not bathe enough and it is totally gross! So I object that a pussy is a pussy and I do agree that any man that says that, must know it is false and a total turn off and put down to any respectable chick who do take care of their cookies on a regular basis!:)

I very much doubt that the person who said that was a "man", but a teenage boy. A grown man isn't likely to say "a pussy iz a pussy" or something like that.
Take no notice of him.

NO the proper procedure is to take a bath with her, lick her and then watch the rare movie she owns. :D Make sure you wash your balls because sweaty been in the pants all day long and dripping pee penis is just as bad as pent up in jeans cootchie on a hot day!

So to reiterate, today's lesson is:
Pussy is not just pussy unless you:
1.) take a bath with her
2.) lick her
3.) watch the rare movie she owns
4.) make sure your balls are washed
If all of the above applies, then pussy is just pussy.

Was he the evil kid, the good kid or some imposter twat? (that wouldn't make much sense, but the whole film didn't so that wouldn't be a surprise!)
Only good thing I've heard is that the director NICK HAMM covered all his corners by filming at LEAST SEVEN alternate endings. Apparantly there are a selection of outcomes including each one of the main characters dying, both of them dying AND one even with the kid dying.
Hope they appear on the dvd. :p
