Any thoughts on the upcoming John Woo films (Rainbow 6, Spyhunter)?

Personally, I'm lovin' it to death.
Especially the Woo, The Rock combo for Spyhunter!

As long as he has white doves flying across the screen in slow-mo I'll be happy.

Didn't you hear that is one of the secret weapons of the car in Spyhunter.

When the Rock is being chased he releases a cloud of white doves and they splatter all over the windows of the cars behind them and make them crash!

Plus it is accompanied by a mix of Princes song when doves cry.

It will rock!

Out............................................... .............

Substitute suck for rock in that sentence & you've got it right.

John Woo films blow chunks.

He should never be allowed to direct another feature film.

I'm praying that his long line of box office duds means that he'll never get the chance to sully Metroid with his endless slow-mo & ridiculous continuity errors.

while i'm not defending woo 100%, in the case of the continuity errors. If you are referring to MI:2, apparently woo's original cut was nearing 3 hrs. So when the studio made him cut it down the continuity errors started to pop up.

but then again, wtf do i know.

What happened to the John Woo we all knew & loved? I mean he started off his career so good with Hard Target (one of the few Van Damme movies I like), Broken Arrow (a very good action film with another good Travolta villian role) and Face/Off (my favorite movie of all time). Then he went "Hollywood" with MI:2, which I do like but had to live up to De Palma's M:I, which was a great film. M:I 2 wasn't bad, just felt like a tone down studio John Woo.

Not the violent storyteller we all love. I do admit that finale fight was pretty awesome. Then there was Windtalkers...nough said. And finally Payback, which is one of the worst films I have ever seen. Yeah it's an exciting thought to have The Rock team up with John Woo. But when I hear Woo's name now, it doesn't bring that flare that it once did. I want the old violent John Woo back...gunfights & all.
