Anybody caught this or partial of Sc-Fi's DECOYS?
The first thing that came to mind when I saw the ads for it was similar to "The Faculty" being strange beings pose a students stalking a campus setting. WELL, I saw SOME of it. I could NOT get into this flick. Too much of this sappy WB/FOX pop songs they kept playing. The pacing is sorta gets good then it just turns AWFULLY bad then to worst then sorta back to good. There is a moment in the movie that reminded me of SPECIES.

Just watched this one and I was.....surprised.
Arrow's review is basically bang on....the lead guy overacts like crazy, the plotholes are gaping (though switch your brain off and you'll miss them), the chicks are way hot and the effects are pretty decent. The tone of the film is also all over the place...at the beginning I thought it was going to be a comedy/sci-fi/horror romp, then it turned serious, then unintentionally hilarious. I could see how some wouldn't be able to stick through it.
But despite all of these problems, I found myself actually ENJOYING it. I still don't know why. Well, I enjoyed it up until a certain point, which I'll explain now for those who have seen it.
If you HAVE seen it, please let me know if you felt the same way....
****MASSIVE SPOILERS!!!****
The turning point of the film, where she reveals that they are here to save their dying race, and the male deaths are merely an accident due to adjustment I thought humanised the aliens too much, and gave them a justifying plight.
After that, I found it extremely hard to sympathise with the main character as he went nuts on them all with the flamethrower...I mean, his friend gave himself up on his free will, and the alien seemed to genuinely love him. The film did NOT need that kind of characterisation when it was simply going to end the way it did.....another one of the film's "death by tonal shift" symptoms.

I watched this one last year and was also surprised by it. I thought I was getting into something that was among the worst of straight to video shitfests but it actually wasn't THAT bad. I'd say mediocre actually. The characters were somewhat likeable and the pace didn't really drag from what I remember. I hear there is a sequel coming out. I still don't have my hopes up for it though. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.
