View Full Version : X-Men 2 is a piece of shit

Oh my god, I am tired of hearing everyone say this is the best comic book movie ever. WTF?!? This movie has NO PLOT WHATSOEVER. None. It's a bunch of overbearing fights scenes every 5 seconds. So what if they were well made? Did anybody seriously give a shit about the fates of any of the characters? Did anybody even KNOW who the characters were? Cyclops was in this movie what, 5 seconds? It's funny, because the movie starts pretty good, becomes kinda boring, and you think about it and say "hmm, it was decent". then you keep thinking back and say "hmm... it was... ok". and then it hits you, it's a piece of overrated crap. And it's overrated by like, every person in the planet. Where's the excitement? Where's the characters? Where are the X-MEN, goddamit, not this bunch of I-fight-every-5-second jackasses?!? BOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Heh i was pissed about cyclop's screen time.

They give way too much time to wolverine.

In X3 they'd best give cyclops more time... ESPECIALLY if the pheonix is involved

Yeah Cyclops will be better featured in the next film.

Actually though, I hear the next storlyine will be two movies (im pretty certain this is accurate info). So we have room for all that character devlopment and shite. And, hopefully, a buttload of cameos. Bring on Gambit, and the Sentinels!

I just hope they don't include a whole lot involving princess lilandra and whatnot.

she was kinda lame.

i was disappointed with X2, it was a lot of fun, not as good as the first film and definitely not the best comic book movie

to be honest i didnt notice cyclops had little screen time

actually, now that im thinking about X2, its very forgetable, i can remember very little of it

I really liked X2, But I don't think is the best comic book movie ever (In my opinion, that will be Batman) and I was kinda dissapointed with the villains.

I disagree to a certain extent. I loved watching Magneto, the Bobby/Rogue/Johnny friendship...i think their main focus was with Wolverine, and I really wish they would STOP that. There's so many other interesting characters to explore. I would've liked to see more Scott/Jean subplots, as well. They have a true romance going on, and it seems like Singer's just ignoring it, like it isn't important. And because of that, I didn't really care about

spoilers

Jean's, erm, "death." I just wanted to smack Scott insteading sympathizing for him.

*Raises hand*

I didn't mind the little screentime for Cyclops, mainly since I think James Marsden is the weakest actor in the ensemble

X2 is a excellent movie. The problem with X-Men is that there are so many characters. It's hard to fit that many characters and stories into a 2 hour movie. I thing Bryan Singer pulled it off very nicely.

I agree with this......Like in the comics they decided to focus on one main character, and have subplots for the rest...The first was mostly focusing on Magneto/Prof. X.......This one was Wolverine/Rogue......You can't make a 7 hour movie, so I totally understand why this one was done the way it was, and I dug it a lot..

The next two films will be shot back-to-back (a la the Matrix sequels).

X2 is without a doubt the best comic book movie ever . . . I have no doubt about it.

Yeah it did, it just also contained many sub-plots. One movie like this is 2001: A Space Odyssey, but that seems to be one of your favorites?

Comparing the masterpiece 2001 to X-Men 2?!?!?! Please lets not do that.

Heart Collector, I have disagreed with you many of times on Micheal Moore but I do agree that X Men 2 was shit.

Haha, I'm not saying they're in the same league. I consider 2001 to be the second greatest film of all time, X2 isn't in my top 300 list.

But there are aspects that you CAN COMPARE. They are both driven by sub-plots, and that's ALL I was saying was similar between them.

No need to condescend...

DISCUSSION ABOUT RANDOM BAD MOVIE:

Rnadom person-"Man, this movie was so bad it made Freddy Got Fingered look like Citizen Kane!"

echo_bravo: "What are you doing, comparing this crap with a masterpiece like Citizen Kane!?"

random person-"Sorry, yo :("

I wouldn't call X-Men 2 a POS, but it is definitely overrated. I felt it was overlong and some things just dragged on too long.

A decent comic book flick, yeah. The best ever made? Far from it.

I think X2 is better than 2001. But then again, so is every other movie I've ever seen.

the sub-"plots" were so half-assed that they might as well be non-existant. it's not necesarily that it didn't have a plot, but it certainly didn't feel like it because of the ridiculous amount of overbearing action scenes.

X2 rocked and is the second greatest comic book movie of all time.

And it's overrated by like, every person in the planet.

Not true, they just see it for the kick ass ride of a movie that it is.

Ever think that maybe ite not over-rated by the majortiy of people, but under-rated by u?

Just a thought.;)

Meh, it wasn't a piece of shit, but it wasn't as good as the first one.

By the way, in case anyone cares, my top five comic book films are:

5. Daredevil
4. Spider-Man
3. The Crow
2. Batman
1. Spider-Man 2

Yeah, I know what you're thinkin': "WHAT??!! DAREDEVIL??!!"

I loved it. So sue me.

I thought the plot was racial acceptance man. One guy who doesn't like mutants is trying to have them all die. Well, the mutants had to disagree so they try to stop him. I thought it was pretty clear cut to me. I liked the movie; I own it on DVD. The subplots of family issues, love triangle, and the mutants vs. mutants angle from the first one were good additions.

i think im one of the only people who doesent like the whole aspect of trying to make comic book movies more believible which means more watered down and sometimes less entertaining.

i loved spidy 2 and X2 and thought that they were some of the best comic book movies made.
mostly because they were far more comic bookie and less watered down than the original so it seemed alot more like the comic.

i never liked how in super-team movies they always have the team break up and each guy fights their individual nemesis, that ruins the point.
if your gong to have super teams then you have to have the teams all fight together in on craz awesome battle, that way they can all go totally crazy with the powers and it will be an awesome and very memorible scene.

im hoping for X3 or 4 they just have the x-men vs the brotherhood or even better the x-men and brotherhood vs the sentinals.

but maby thats just one comic nerds opinion

X-2 was pretty good the first time.
The second time it wasn't worse, it was just way more boring because there weren't any "Woah" moments the second time....Because..you know I'd seen it.....:p

x-men is great but not perfect. The screen time of scott was a joke. I hope in x3 he has more screen time and wolverine has less screen time. I also hope that the new director will do the right thing.

X2 is not shit, Catwoman is.

Also I want Gambit in x3.

That's not a plot. That's a very broad and vague idea.
