Why won't White Chicks burn in hell already? I wanted a 70% drop!!

Oh, well, at least many films seem to be holding up well taking into account what they're struggling with...

Is it just me, or is that a really week Friday to Saturday increase for Spidey? And isn't is going to be a pretty low weekend? How much is due to the Wednesday release? Is it performing a little below expectations? It's not like it's a bomb or anything like that. But honestly, is the opening a tad weak?

The numbers are decent considering it's a holiday weekend and it already has $125+ million under its belt. It's a little below expectations, but the movie has great word of mouth and the first had a decent multiplier, so it really has nothing to worry about.

WHITE CHICKS and THE TERMINAL both had decent holds. The former should make it to $75 million while the latter has a shot at $100 million.

With just Wednesday, Friday, and Saturdays numbers alone Spidy has made over 100 mill.

I dont know Thursdays stats and we still have today. Spidy could be looking at 160 mill in its first 5 days.

Once again, that's an unfair, totally ridiculous comparison. Look at the screen counts. The budgets. I don't know why some feel to keep bringing this up. No one can deny the massive success of F9/11, no matter how much you dislike Moore and the movie itself, which you likely haven't seen. And was there any doubt that Spidey 2 would trounce it? Could anyting have beaten it? Of course not. But hey, if it makes you feel better. Also, I wasn't implying that Spidey isn't a huge hit. Just seemed to me that the number is below expectations for it.

Are you serious? Are you really comparing the financial returns of a $200 million sequel to one of the most successful films of all time, with a $6 million documentary in its second week of release on about a third of the screens?

Oy.

No, I wouldn't consider the opening weak, nor the increase. If you look, none of the movies increased substantially on Saturday, so I wouldn't single out Spidey. $88 million for Spidey after a huge opening on Wednesday is very good.

I'm not saying it's a bad opening or a huge disappointment. But I would say that it's a little weak and below expectations. It's still going to be successful and make a ton of money. I'm not trying to argue against that. But, it seems to me that most people were expecting it to match or top the three-day opening weekend of the first one, even with the Wednesday opening. The numbers are a little lower than expected, that's all I'm saying. Still excellent, but lower than expected.

If Spider-Man had opened on a Friday, it would've broken the damn 3-day record.

That's true.
