I'm sure this rant has probably been stated before, but I've got to say that I am truely dissapointed in Paramount. I've always been a huge fan of the Friday the 13th series. For years, I have been waiting to have this complete set in my hands along with the Nightmare series (which is an excellent box set).

It doesn't really surprise me that Paramount isn't going gung-ho on this and giving it the attention that it deserves to be a great box set. Paramount has always thought of the Friday series as their bastard child, and was glad to hand over the series to New Line (which I was glad about as well). It's too bad that Paramount can't just hand over all of the rights to New Line so they can take a better shot at a deluxe box set, where Paramount won't.

Below is the specifications of the set. The original Friday the 13th isn't getting any special treatment by itself. The one movie that started it all isn't getting any real recognition (seems to me anyway). Part 7 was one of the favorites of the series and would have liked the extra deleted scenes back where the MPAA made them chop it all to hell and back. The commentary on 7 should be good, along with Part 3.

I'm glad that there is a box-set and there ARE some nice features that are coming with the movies, and I guess they could have just put all 8 movies together without ANYTHING special.

I just think that Paramount needs to re-think how they market their products and try and think about even the small group of fan-boys like myself who are willing to pay a little extra dough for extra features...

yes they do, Paramount keeps fucking up with Friday the 13th, at first this sounded like the set that fans had been waiting for but then they had to fuck it up

maybe if we got enough people we could storm Paramount, steal everything to do with Friday and give it to Anchor Bay who would give it the set it deserves

I own them all on tape I would like some deleted scenes on all of them but I wouldn't mind checking out the extra features and actually for $70(I think that's what it will cost) it's really not that expensive (I saw a Nightmare On Elm Street box set for $109 somewhere.

I'm sure one of my friends will buy it or even my cousin who just needs to have everything on DVD so I'll wait for him to get it and check out the extra features and then think about buying it.

Hey it's Paramount what were we expecting it beats buying them all separatley for $25 with no extra features on 3 of them and a theatrical trailer on the rest.

Damn Paramount, the only feature I wanted from this boxset was unrated cuts. Why the hell are studios so afraid of releasing unrated cuts these days?

I only care about the movie. The extras are just a bonus. I'll be getting the box set.

They're actually less afraid now than they used to be. I think Paramount just doesn't care enough to pay to have the prints restored.

I'm just annoyed at constantly being promised unrated or Directors Cuts and never getting them. Resident Evil, House Of 1000 Corpse, Cabin Fever, at some point each movie was promised to be uncut.

House of 1000 Corpses will probably be released unrated around the time The Devil's Rejects gets its dvd release.

They could have at least gave us F13 number's 1 and 7 uncut. We know the uncut versions of those films are out there.

Does anyone know the reason why they're not going to be uncut? I know a lot of the cut scenes are going to be in the bonus disc (so at least they're there SOMEWHERE) but I'm just curious to know why they're not in the movies themselves. Is it because the scenes are in too bad a shape to splice in?

I do know that there is a lot of extra footage for Part 7, and I read somewhere that the director was willing to go back and help add in the extra footage. Paramount wouldn't do it though...

As far as the others, yeah, there's footage that the MPAA forced them to cut out and I wouldn't think that Paramount would allow the prints get damaged.

Considering how little they seem to care about Friday the 13th, I wouldn't be suprised if they were stored in an open air pit in a desert.

Yeah really, alot of people do not care about their stuff. Take the master tapes of The Road Warrior soundtrack score, they were copied over because some dork needed a tape, so now you cannot get it from the main source anymore which had every cue!!!!!
