In Roger Ebert's good review of Vanilla Sky he compares it to both mind bending movies Memento and Mulholland Drive...which is interesting because after I saw it, I too thought of both those films...Memento 9/10 and Mulholland Drive 8/10...If you wanna read his review check it out here or just read my review on the other Vanilla Sky threads.

All I can say is that I hope Vanilla Sky is a thinking movie that's also entertaining.
I found Memento to be a thinking movie, obviously, but I found it extremely boring... It's one of the most over-rated movies in a long time.

To be honest with you, I liked Vanilla Sky more than both Mulholland Drive and Memento (it's just my opinion, I know there are many crazy memento fans here).
Vanilla Sky is deeply thought-provoking, amazingly acted, and well-directed, not too confusing nor just based on one single idea. It's easily one of the most superb films of the year.
