If so, how?

Example: Goodfellas DVD. Flip side is the second half of the movie. Can you have this burned onto one whole DVD+R?

Yes. Get a hold of a nifty little program called DVD Shrink. Hold on...I'll dig up a link for you.....

You'll have to compress each side so that both will fit on a single disc. Shrink the one side down to half your blank DVD (~2.2 gigs, could be a fair amount of compression) and rip it to the hard drive. Do the same for the other side. Then you can burn it all to the one disc.

Or just wait a couple months for the special edition - it may have the movie on a single disc.

Quality may DRASTICALLY decreae. After about 30-40 percent compression you start seeing pixels....

Yeah, quality will definately be noticeably worse if you compress too much. But Goodfellas is quite an old DVD, is it possibly only a single layer on each side?
