My shiny new special edition Twin Peaks, season 1 dvd package just arrived, but I only found out last week or so that to get the whole story, you need to watch season 2 (which I didn't even know exisisted). To make matters worse, I heard that season 2 isn't even on dvd yet.

Does anybody know if there are any plans for a season two release date? It's considered some of Lynch's best work, and one of the best series of all time, so it seems kind of dumb that they wouldn't put it out.

I haven't heard anything recent about season 2, but you can get tapes of them off of ebay, or download it from kazaa/suprnova like I did.

XvoorheesX I hate to be the bearer of bad news but there are no plans to release season 2 on dvd. I think it's a fucking crime but the company who owns the rights decided since they didn't make that much of a profit with season one that didn't feel justified in releasing the second season. Ugh.

Murderous Squad beat me to it. I knew they had a Season two from Spain.

I think a lot of new Peakers are mislead, Lynch contributed to maybe 1/4 of the series. You can definatly tell which episodes he directed and which ones he didn't. Keep in mind TP was only on for two seasons and Lynch concentrated most of his time to Wild at Heart which he happened to filming the same time TP was in production.

To be honest the series is good up until episode 17 where we find out who killed Laura. Episodes 18-28 really aren't all that great at all IMHO. The last episode is defiantly the greatest of them all though, it's David Lynch at his best!

I just popped the first cd into my dvd player, hit "play episode one", and it comes up, "Last time, on Twin Peaks", and it showed just random clips of them finding the body and the characters being introduced. I'm seriously fucking pissed now. Did they not include the first episode, or what?

It's like they're doing everything they can from PREVENTING me from watching it. To see the whole thing, you need season two which isn't even on dvd. And I spend over $50 on a five-dvd first season package, and they don't even have the first fucking episode? What does it take to watch this, anyways?

Yeah, the R1 set doesn't include the pilot episode (R2 includes it though) -- I think you can buy it separately...

I'm really pissed about them not realising season two but I read this a few days ago:

We received word today concerning Twin Peaks Season 2. According to an email, there are now shops (not sure if they are online or physical stores) that are spreading word that Region 2 could see season 2 of Twin Peaks sometime between April and June of next year. We've not been able to confirm, and as we know, we've heard similar things before.

That's from: http://twinpeaksgazette.com/tp/

So there's a glimmer of hope that I might one day show

I'm thinking the best thing to do is just return the artisan season one, get my money back, and buy the package in the link that murderous squad posted. But first, some questions.

Does it include the two-hour pilot, all of season one, and all of season two (like it says?) Can you watch it in english (audio) without any sub-titles? Does it work with PS2?
And finally, does anyone actually have this? Does it look and sound good, and most importantly, is that link legit? I'd be extremely hesitant from ordering from some Spanish site called "Xploited cinema"... For obvious reasons.

Okay... I went to the video store, rented something called "Twin Peaks pilot"... It was about two hours, and it ended with Cooper ina red room with a weird, back-wards talking midget dancing, and his "cousin" who looks exactly like Laura Palmer. She whispered something into Coopers ear, and then the credits rolled. Is this the right pilot that you're supposed to watch before the first season, or is this the weird european one? Any help at all would help me out.

Thats the European one, I think you're just supposed to ignore the Dream sequence at the end and you will have the regular pilot.

Alright, that's cool... I don't think that "25 years later scene" spoiled anything anyways. I'll tackle season one in the next week or so, then try to track down season two... Then back to the video store for "Fire Walk With Me". I loved the pilot, I hope it stays this good *knock on wood*.

All this stuff is just making me think more and more of the dude dancing with the unicorn under the stoplight

And yes, I realize you already posted that bit someplace else

Okay... The stuff that wasn't supposed to be in the pilot happened in episode three, so I think I'm all squared up now.

I'll say what I said before. It's a solid series up until we find out who kills Laura (Halfway through season two). Then it kinda goes down hill until the final episode, which will blow you away!

I'm about halfway through season one, but I still haven't been able to track down season two. No video stores have it, and I can't find it on the net.

If I can't find it, would it be okay to watch FWWM after season one?

Well if your against down loading it from Kazaa, and can't get your hands on at least episodes 9-18... I say go for it!

I had to do that very thing.

I actually watched FWWM first, then the series because I was to young to watch it when the series was on network TV and I had the same problem you did locating the VHS copies. Not to mention the season 1 wasn't out on DVD at that time. I really had no choice.

So I totally did it in the wrong order but, in the whole grand sceam of things, it really didn't take away from my T.P. experiance.

I just knew what had happened, and I had the same joy of finding out how it came to that conclusion. Kinda in the style of Momento or Irreversible.

Know what I mean?

so to close I say go for it if you don't want to deprive yourself any longer of such a great movie and series like TP.

I've been trying to find it on kazaa, but to no avail.
I'm thinking about going to e-bay, even though I hate doing that. Just to make sure I don't order anything I don't want, how many episodes are there?

The box-set has seven episodes, is that all of season one?
How many episodes are in total, both series? (I would go to just find this information on the web, but I'm terrified of having it spoiled for me).

Yes what you have is episodes 1-7 minus the pilot. (For some reason I was thinking I thought it went to episode 8)

Second season is episodes 8-29

I'm really suprised you couldn't find the files off of Kazaa, they used to be all over that site. I'de send you my files but some how the visuals won't play. I can send the audio if you want though.

Ask your fellow shmoes if they have the files to send you. I'm sure they would be more than happ to do so.

As for E-bay. You want to get at least episodes 8-17 (Instead of 9-18 like I said in my privious post, for some reason I was ahead 1 episode) But if you can get 18-29 go for it!

hopefully this helps.

Also looked up some stuff on E-bay that you might want.

The US pilot episode below on DVD...

Here is a VHS boxset of the Entire Series... of course that would mean you would have to double dip on the 1 season...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=309&item=6306577665&rd=1

Here is the complete series (including the pilot) from spain region 2 DVD...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=617&item=6308002571&rd=1

This one appears to be a bootleg season 2 on region 1 DVD

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=617&item=6308810432&rd=1

there is other stuff on there that you can get that might be helpfull. It all depends on which direction you want to go.
