As part of my ongoing mission to stimulate this forum a little bit, I thought it could work to actually have a bit of a quiz going on. Whats going to happen is- I will ask a question. If you answer correctly, you can ask a question, and so on and so on, until either we all get sick of it, the site dies, or a meteor destroys the planet.

I'll start with a reasonably simple one.

how many bond films have contained scenes that have taken place on a train? Name them.

Ted Pikul
07-09-2004, 05:42 AM
From Russia With Love
The Spy Who Loved Me
Octopussy
Goldeneye

Does Blofeld's toy train from You Only Live Twice count?

Cheers.

Okay then name all the official Bond films where 007's CIA buddy Felix Leiter appears.

Bonus points if you can name the actor (only kidding).

quoth_the_raven
07-09-2004, 10:04 AM
Dr No
Goldfinger
Thunderball
Diamonds are Forever
Live and Let Die
Licence To Kill

I think thats all of them. Thank god you didn't ask me why they kept changing the actor who played felix, that one would be a mystery...

how did I do?

Horror_Buddy
07-09-2004, 11:58 PM
Felix was also in the Living Daylights

Horror_Buddy
07-15-2004, 02:22 AM
Well if its not a Brosnan movie then its not Tommorrow never Dies and if it has a fake piano player then its a movie where a guy somewhere in the movie plays a piano but you can tell its fake.

Fraenkl

Horror_Buddy
07-17-2004, 02:42 PM
Ok the answer was Moonraker because all the astronauts were women and they all died when the Moonraker exploded

New question and easier:

Which bond film is the only film in which Bond doesn't drive a car?

Ted Pikul
07-17-2004, 06:51 PM
I think it might be Octopussy.

He flies a plane & a hot air balloon. Not to mention a submarine dressed up as a crocodile but I don't remember him driving a car.

Horror_Buddy
07-17-2004, 11:22 PM
He drove a car when he stole the ladie in the phone booth's and he drove it to the circus

quoth_the_raven
07-19-2004, 12:32 PM
You Only Live Twice isn't it? He does enter a car in the movie, but as far as I know, he doesn't do any actual driving...

Let me know asap so i can keep this moving ;)

Joe Don Baker is one. I'd say Robbie Coltrane as the other, or am I not allowed to count former enemies?

Ted Pikul
07-27-2004, 01:13 PM
Correct on Joe Don Baker.

I deliberately didn't include Robbie Coltrane because he's always been an ally of sorts in the Bond films he's appeared in.

Likewise Richard Kiel (Jaws) who was always a villain despite momentarily being swayed to do right by the allure of NHS specs, pigtails & lederhosen.

quoth_the_raven
07-27-2004, 01:42 PM
That would rule out Walter Gotell as Gogol then wouldn't it? he was working against Bond in FYEO, but was an ally for the majority of the time. Bugger this is giving me a headache.

this is just the kind of sneaky question I would have asked ;)

Ted Pikul
07-27-2004, 01:48 PM
Yup, Gogol is also excluded. He & Bond might have sometimes shared common interests & even actively collaborated at times but they were never allies.

Maud Adams has been in two bond movies, but she won't count either.

regarding the post, I see it as an alliance, but thats just perspective.

This is a pain.

quoth_the_raven
07-27-2004, 01:54 PM
Oh fuck, I've clocked it now. Charles Gray- Blofeld in diamonds are forever, and the ally who gets stabbed to death in You only live twice.

A father and son have both acted in Bond movies. Who are they and which two movies were they present in?

thats a bit tougher ;)

Ted Pikul
07-29-2004, 09:12 AM
So that rules out Dr Evil & Scott Evil because they've been in 3 films together;)

Ah my question wasn't all that clear. fucking allergy pills, they zombify me. but at least I don't sneeze.

The father and the son were in different bond movies. does that help? more hints...ok, the father played his rule during the connery era. The son during daltons reign.

Get busy ;)

Ted Pikul
07-29-2004, 09:49 AM
Ah, I know it now.

Pedro Armendiaz (spelling?) in From Russia With Love & his son Jnr in Licence To Kill.

Ted Pikul
08-04-2004, 05:03 AM
You've already named most of the Moore Bond villains so by a process of elimination you should get the answer.

Another clue the villain stars in a film that is often overlooked in the Bond canon.

quoth_the_raven
08-04-2004, 06:41 AM
Hmmm theres only two that I can really picture. its either Michael Lonsdale as Drax,or Julian Glover as Kristatos...both of those came off as quite cultured villains, so I guess thats why I'm picturing those actors as Bond.

Do i win a coconut?

Ted Pikul
08-04-2004, 08:01 AM
It was Julian Glover.

He was considered twice. Once in the early 70's & again before For Your Eyes Only began filming when Moore was wrangling over pay (much like Brosnan is now).

Your turn.

quoth_the_raven
08-04-2004, 04:57 PM
An easy one. which actress played two leading roles during the Moore era?

quoth_the_raven

Yeah, I forgot you liked the special effects in Die Another Day.

Horror_Buddy
08-10-2004, 10:09 AM
I enjoyed the effects but the movie is bad for a bond

but the two actors were both in TWINE

Horror_Buddy
08-13-2004, 04:27 PM
okay that was hard but im not gonna say the answer so i can use it later

next question:

easy this time:

how do all 20 bond villains die

Puck Bond
08-17-2004, 10:41 AM
In order of the Bond films released

Dr. No drowns in the reactor

Bond strangles Grant with his watch wire/Tanya shoots Rosa Klebb

Goldfinger gets sucked out of plane

Largo gets shot with harpoon by Domino then blows up when boat crashes

Blofeld does not die in YOLT

Blofeld does not die in OHMSS

Don't think he dies...but Blofeld gets swung into oil rig in his little sub thing!

Kananga blows up to humpty dumpty size and explodes!

Scaramanga gets shot by Bond in duel.

Stromberg gets shot like 3 times by Bond.

Drax gets shot by dart and then flies into outerspace.

(At the beginning of FYEO Blofeld dies when Bond dumps him on his wheelchair down a smoke stack off a helicopter)
Kristatos I think gets a knife thrown in his back by Columbo atop the mountain monastery.

Kamal Khan crashes in plane.

Zorin falls off Golden Gate Bridge.

Joe Don Baker's character(I guess he's the villian) gets crashed into by his statue after Bond blows it up with his whistle.

Sanchez gets burned alive by Bond's wedding present the "Felix Leiter"

Travelayan falls down to dish and then the antenna crashes down upon him.

Carver gets crushed by drill

Bond shoots Electra/Renard gets skewered by reactor rod in sub

I think Graves gets electrocuted by his mechanical arm thing

If all are right that is skill right there...all from memory didn't look up any!

Horror_Buddy
08-17-2004, 11:44 PM

Okay, I'll be the saviour... ;)
Here it comes...probably an easy one, but what the hell...

A person tells Bond the following:

"I've always tried to teach you two things. First, never let them see you bleed."

What is the second one and who's telling it to Bond in which movie?

Ted Pikul
09-03-2004, 06:07 AM
The second is "Never let them see you cum".

Advice Lee Tamahori totally ignored in DAD;)

max zorin
11-23-2004, 03:57 PM
This looks interesting, so I'll take a stab at it...

Dr. No-microwaves that interfered with a launched rocket's guidance system, plus one funky fire breathing mechanical dragon.

FRWL-Rosa Klebb's switch blade shoe (hate to be kicked where it hurts most with that) Grant's choke wire watch.

Goldfinger-Atomic Bomb hidden in a large metal crate and placed inside Fort Knox...plus Big Ass Laser #1.

Thunderball- two stolen nuclear bombs

YOLT-One very large rocket that consumes smaller rockets while in orbit.

OHMSS- The unsuspecting Babes at the Allergy Clinic on top of one very large mountain.

DAF-Orbiting Laser made of Diamonds...AKA Big Ass Laser #2

L&LD Tough one...Besides the occasional Alligator/Croc...all I could think of was the Dart loaded side mirror on large Pimp Mobile.

MWGG-One Golden Gun plus Big Ass Laser #3

TSWLM- 2 stolen Nuclear Subs plus one large Freighter.

Moonraker-Orbiting pods containing poisonous spores-kills people, not animals.

FYEO-Tough ojne again...underwater robotic diving suit, underwater sub, and the two guys on the machine gun equiped winterized motorcycles.

Octopussy-Nuclear bomb hidden in Stunt Clown's Cannon.

VTAK-My namesake uses a lot of TNT placed on top of the San Andres Fault. Loved the Zorin Blimp.

TLD-machinegun with body armor. This is also a tough one.

LTK-Stinger Missles.

Goldeneye-two stolen orbiting nuclear bombs (what is it with the two nuclear bombs always being stolen? So much for security)

TMND-underwater Drill plus stealth ship.

TWINE-stolen nuclear submarine.

DAD-Funky Robocop suit plus another orbiting laser-Icarus AKA big Ass Laser #4

Ok what did I win....all done by memory did i miss any??

Horror_Buddy
