Best World Champ Ever Tourney: Battle of the Feds

So this tournament is to decide the greatest World Champ ever! What I've done is take 16 champs from the Major 4 promotions and squared them off against each other. The Final will be a 4 way match with each winner of the promotions squaring off.

Some things to mention:

1)Bret Hart and Chris Benoit are only in the WWF brackets to avoid if one of the 2 won both WWF and WCW. I didn't want 1 guy representing more than 1 promotion in the final. That is why Jericho is in the WCW brackets (he won the WCW title before they unified the belts in WWF) and why David Arquette is unfortunately in the tourney. I have Hogan in both WWF and WCW but I don't fear him winning 1 promotion let alone 2.

2)Since Flair was most successful in NWA that's where I put him to avoid him winning 3 promotions.

3)Since WWF had much more champions then the other feds I evened it up and got rid of the westlers that didn't have a chance in hell of winning.

It was around 95 I think, where he was the dorky looking underdog babyface who scores upsets all the time. Actually beat Steve Austin during his reign.

I thought Vader was a lot better champion than Sting was. He was much more dominant and defended against all comers in his three reigns as champ. Outside of his first reign Sting really never did get another fair reign.

Im just curious here, but if David Arquette was included in this tournament, why wasnt Vince McMahon included in the WWF section? I just finished watching Best of Raw Volumes 1 and 2 on DVD and totally forgot that in 1999 Vince was the champ for a short while. To me, Vince is a much more credible champion than D.A. ever was, and deserved to be in the tournament instead of Arquette.

The sad thing is there was 18 WCW Title holders compared to something like 37 WWF Title holders so I decided to even up the WWF side so that tournament wouldn't go twice as longer as the other finals and got rid of the dead weight that didn't have a chance in hell of winning the WWF side. I don't even think Vince McMahon could have even beat The Ultimate Warrior so I decided to take him out.

Wasn't wrestling a shit circus before Austin was popular. Once The Austin era happened, a lot of the cartoonish shit of the early and mid 90's Doink, Tatanka, The Gobbelly fucking Gooker disappeared. Personally Flair was probably the best champ of the four, but if he wasn't such an asshole I'd vote him. I'd say Austin was the best wrestler of the four. As Bret pointed out Flair wrestles basically the same match and he gets repetitive and as I watch my Flair DVD, I actually start to notice that. Flair still was a great worker back in the day and his trilogy against Steamboat remains in my fave matches of all time, but the formula wears thin at points. Austin's matches are different for me wheither it's a insane brawl like against Foley at OTE 98 or a technical masterpiece like against Bret at SurSer 96 or just a hatefilled psychology filled, epic classic like against Bret at WM 13, or Rock at WM X-7 I feel Austin is god. Austin's worst years as a worker were probably 98/99 and 02. 98/99 was because he was extremely limited to brawls and had to wrestle guys like Taker and Kane a lot. He just got really lazy in 2002. Only match I really enjoyed of his in 2K2 was a match he had against Angle on Raw. Although I like Sting a hell of a lot as well, he never really had a title reign that equalled the good matches that Austin's reign of 2K1 had. Plus he got really lazy as a worker from 96 to right now. Hell, I can't really watch his matches against Flair anymore so damn repetitive those matches were. Anyway, I wish ROH was more popular so Samoa Joe could've been in this tourney. ROH champ for close to 17 months forever.
