hmmm. . . I guess I wasn't to clear. In my defense, it was like 3 or 4 in the morning and my mental agility was not at its finest. I just wanted to know what is myers deal? I originally thought he was just an insane dude with a white mask and a sharp object, but then I see Halloween: Ressurection, and I see 'im crushing a guys skull with his bare hands and little visible effort, or throwing some crackhead across the room one handed. So my question was, is Myers just a psycho with a kitchen knife (i.e. Jason's Mommy), or is he a supernatural psycho with a kitchen knife (i.e. Jason himself)?

Oh, so you want to know what deal is with Michael. Okay, Michael Myers is the boogeyman. According to druid mythology (at least just in the movies), Michael Myers was born with a rare druid symbol - the thorn symbol. This symbol basically makes out that anyone born with it is destined to kill off their "tribe" (or family).

The druids celebrate the "Sam Hain" festival a.k.a. Halloween. Until the age of six, Michael was your regular average kid - until the thorn bug finally hit on one fateful Halloween night in 1963. The thorn evil took over his body and Michael Myers became...the boogeyman/the shape. Evil completely took over his body. His soul was taken over.

And, upon getting the thorn bug, Michael would start killing people in his family - and those what interfered. He started with his older 17 year old sister, Judith that fateful night of 1963. The rest is history, as Michael would forever - at least until Halloween 9, who knows - be kept under that curse.

The curse gives Michael an extra strength over human beings. He can with stand serious damage. He took six gunshots from Dr. Loomis in the original, he survived an explosion of fire in HII (resulting in a 10 year coma), he would take gunshots wounds in H4 (resulting in a 1 year sleep until H5)...and basically, he can withstand more damage than humanity can take. I suppose he can be killed, the proper formalities just haven't been done. IF he was the guy at the end of H20, who Laurie chopped the head of...I think he could have been dead. I don't think that his thorn curse is going to make him grow a new head (that would be stupid).

"Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers," or more appropriately, "Halloween 6: The Producers Cut" holds the truth about Michael. A lot of Halloween fans are unable to accept this about Michael, and think it was better kept simple like the original (a totally evil person with no soul), but after so many sequels, and outrageous deals Michael survived, there has to be an explanation. "H6: The Producers Cut," even the cheaper theatrical cut (I don't find it too unclear), is that explanation whether everyone likes it or not.

One more thing: H5, the black sheep of the series, holds the key to Michael and the way he is. The scene where he takes off his mask and sheds a tear - Jamie Lloyd broke through his evil barrier in a emotional situation and his soul was regained - briefly. That is the secret to beating Michael. Break through his evil barrier, and off him when he's "human." Either that, or they could ACTUALLY try chopping off his head, some kind of SERIOUS injury like that.

I'd completly forgotten about that scene in Halloween 5. I really do love that scene, just as much as the scene where Jason struggled with whether or not to kill the little girl in Part 6. Two very cool scenes...
