RICCI'S TRAUMATIC GALLO MEMORIES
Actress Christina Ricci has vowed never to work with controversial actor Vincent Gallo again, because their partnership in "Buffalo '66" left her so traumatized.
Ricci teamed up with Gallo -- who caused shockwaves with his explicit movie "The Brown Bunny" at the Cannes Film Festival last year -- in the 1998 arthouse picture, and she admits the "abuse" she suffered on-set continues to haunt her.
And the Hollywood star confesses even her hero Woody Allen -- who directed her in "Anything Else" -- couldn't convince her to sign up for a project if Gallo was also attached.
She says in an interview with Time Out magazine, "If Woody told me he wanted Vincent, I would've quit. 'Buffalo '66' was the most beautiful example of self-absorption I've ever seen in my life. I don't want to bite the hand that feeds you, but I wouldn't take that kind of abuse ever again."

Gallo is a prick and I don't blame Ricci. Buffalo '66 is still an excellent film, though. Quite the original thing.

Well put. One of the single most overrated cinematic turds of the last ten years. Self indulgent, tiresome, boring garbage. Even Christina couldn't do anything with it.

Havent seen Buffalo 66 yet, but now I dont know if I want to.
Just listen to some of his quotes I pulled off imdb.
"I stopped painting in 1990 at the peak of my success just to deny people my beautiful paintings. And I did it out of spite."
"I don't trust or love anyone. Because people are so creepy. Creepy creepy creeps. Creeping around. Creeping here and creeping there. Creeping everywhere. Crippity crappity creepies."
"I'm the happiest the saddest guy in the world can be."
"I came to New York to be a legend, and within five minutes of realizing I was an interesting kid and other people thought so, I had given myself a nervous breakdown. I was 26 years old before I knew what it was like to have an ordinary day."
"I'm not a very popular person. I was pushed to show the unfinished version of Brown Bunny in Cannes, against my judgement. And even though a lot of negative reaction to the film came from not setting up the presentation very well, I still felt responsible and disturbed. But Europeans are animals. Who cares?."
He doesn't trust or love?
Europeans are animals??
creepy creepy creepy???
Ricci sounds right, this guy sounds like an self absorbed filmmaker and deserves a shiner in the ass.

Gallo sounds like the biggest prick on the planet. I wouldn't work with him either.
Remember when he wished Ebert got cancer when he put down Brown Bunny? Asshole. He needs a beating or two.

I think Gallo is a few jokers short of a full deck. And Buffalo 66 bored me to tears. Now that Ms. Ricci is co-starring in great flicks like Monster, she doesn't need to hook up with freaks like Gallo. That Ebert thing was too weird for words.

If only she would return my numerous calls/letters/emails I would make her happy and make her forget all about that horrible Gallo character.
But she has yet to reply to anything so the emails/calls/letters must continue!

APZombie, those quotes are hilarious!
God I would love to beat the fuck out of Gallo. He is such a fuckin loser that should of been aborted.

Whodathunk that him writing a scene where he recieves a blow job by Chloe Svegny would give him the title of being self-indulgent/absorbed?

Out of all the people in the entertainment industry. Christina Ricci and Roger Ebert are two people I respect the most, and after hearing both of their debacles with that animal Vincent Gallo, I can safetly say thats he a fucking screwball. Jesus, hes gonna be homeless one day because he gets such bad word of mouth around hollywood.

Yeah but Hollywood has always been and always will be full of assholes. This guy is a chump compared to some of the assholes Hollywood has spit out. He is just an arrogant prick. Compare him to someone like Joan Crawford and he is a saint.

I've always liked Gallo. He strikes me as a pathological liar trapped in his own little world. He makes for an interesting conversation piece.
As for Ricci being traumatized... you sit naked in a small bathtub with Gallo and see if you walk away for the better? Poor Christina.

I'd consider it self-degrading. Getting head from Sevegny? Ewwww...

I actually liked "Buffalo '66" but I think Gallo is so typical of the "artistic" type. Just because you make low budget movies that most people have never even heard of, doesn't make you artistic.
Low budget crap, just like big budget turds still reak of shit....

I think Gallo makes these movies to have sex scenes with the actresses because he's not getting any in real life.
I saw Buffalo 66 and I could tell from Christina Ricci's expressions that she wasn't comfortable with him. I wouldn't be either.

I was only kidding. :( I already said Gallo is a fucking tool. Not so much self-absorbed as he is deluded and off his rocker.

Boohoo, he abused Ricci....how exactly?

I'm sure I read somewhere that it wasn't just Ricci he abused. Apparently Gallo and Angelica Huston had to be kept at arms length of each other.
He sounds like a self obsessed prick to me.
Poor Christina. Miramax wont release Prozac Nation, Cursed practically had to be made twice and there's the whole Gallo thing. I really do feel sorry for her.

Am I a freak? I really think that Chloe Sevigny (and Ricci obviously) is hot.

Doesn't surprise me, one bit. She'd snap his pencil neck.
And no, you're not a freak. Ricci's the finer of the two but there ain't nothing wrong with either of those two ladies.

Gallo probably told her to get her lardy ass on a diet.
Advice she obviously took to heart.
Getting back to Buffalo 66 wasn't Jan-Michael Vincent in that flick?
Which must have made the on set shenanigans even more frought.
