DUFF USES OLSEN TO BLAST TEEN PRESSURE
Teen singer Hilary Duff has blamed the intense pressure heaped on young stars for causing Mary Kate Olsen's battle with anorexia.
At 16, Duff is two years younger than Olsen -- who last month checked into a clinic to be treated for the eating disorder -- but the star can already empathize with her, because she's fully aware of the demands forced on rising talents to look glamorous.
She says, "It's the pressures put on young celebrities.
"You open a magazine and it's all about someone being too skinny or too fat, no longer pretty, having the wrong hair color or not making it into the most recent popularity poll.
"(I don't) pretend to know what Mary Kate is going through, but I can understand a bit of it on a certain level.
"As a young celebrity, there are times when you feel your life is being controlled by so many other things that eating is the last thing you really do have some control over."
But she has assured fans she will never succumb to anorexia: "I love food too much. I eat sensibly, but I do love to eat."

Maybe I'm wrong, but this seems to be more of a problems female celebrities than males (I'm not saying all the time, just usually).
Then again, I've never been one to succumb to pressure so I don't get why people just can't tell the forces that be to go screw themselves.

I'm not a Duff fan (well...except for Duff Beer) but I have to agree with her for the most part. How many stories have we heard where executives tell an actress to lose weight because they're "too fat for Hollywood." (Liv Tyler is a good example) It has to take it's toll after awhile.
In Hilary Duff's case the tabloids have been after her lately because of her weight gain. "Hefty Hilary" was one I read recently. They had a "weight expert" come to the conclusion that she's gained at least 45 pounds. She's 16 for crying out loud.

And I don't know of any weight gain. And even if she did gain weight, I'd still hit it like a beehive, cause if she's considered fat, then fat chicks are hot

I don't feel sorry for these teen celebrities. Normal girls are pressured to look like them. Oh this is kinda like a bad circle huh? Well anyways yeah, normal girls feel the pressure all the time but no one cares if they have anorexia and have to go to a clinic. Most of the time people come down on them.

I dont get it, it doesnt sound like shes really complaing about anything...
Everything she stated is pretty much true, there IS alot of pressure for them to look perfect, and she states as much, but it doesnt sound like shes complaining about it.
