I just got back from a screening of the comedy Not Another Teen Movie, here is my review.

Let's see here, this movie is not all that entertaining, I laughed probaly twice through the whole thing.. The first half an hour was ok and the rest of the movie went downhill from there.. It is stupid, unfunny, and disgusting, but hey what do you expect from a teen movie? a best picture nom? I don't think so... It was an average movie, one that could have been alot better, but also one that could have been alot worse. There is alot of gross-out scenes in this movie, there not good, there not funny, and there not entertaining. The story was way to predictable for me. Actually, in reality there is no story, the movie is basicly a bunch of old teen scene's re-done and over-done, the charecters didn't really tie into each other much, they were just there. However there are a few good thing's about this movie, #1 it's nudity heaven http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif, #2 the girl's were hot and fun to look at (expecialy the cruelest girl in school charecter, now she was sexy), #3 comparing it to the last two spoof movie's we've had (Scary Movie 1 and 2) it is better then those two, a little funnier but not much... Some of the dialouge is a bit to extreme, at time's it had laughing and at time's it had me asking myself why I ever desided to watch it.. Other then a few nude scene's, some sexy girl's, and a couple of funny scene's, there is not much this movie can offer, I didn't like it all that much, I thought it was just ok. If you like crude humor I recommend it, if you don't, I recommend that you stay as far away as possible.

FINAL GRADE: 5/10

NOTE: If you have any question's feel free to ask, I would be more then happy to answer them, or if you have any comments on my review or the movie itself feel free to post them as well. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif

Thanks for your review dicaprio_travolta_man, I enjoyed reading it.
At first I was worried when I saw that you didn't really like it but since you also said that people that like gross out humor will probably like it I'm not as worried anymore. I like gross out humor and I loved Scary Movie and Scary Movie 2.

I'm going tonight and I'll let everyone know what I thought of it.

I just read from IMDb Pro that they said Not Another Teen Movie "is unofficially in the race for the worst-reviewed film of the year." According to them... that's funny. I wont see it in theaters, I'm gonna see Vanilla Sky instead.

I don't think it will be though. That belongs to Freddy Got Fingered. I highly doubt NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE is that bad, I'm sure it will be good. Roger Ebert gave it ** of **** so that means it was "ok"...
I'm sure anyone that enjoys gross out humor will like it.

And Glitter, Town & Country, Tomcats, Say It Isn't So, See Spot Run, Ghosts Of Mars....the list goes on......Not Another Teen Movie has been getting TERRIBLE reviews and could rank up there with these stinkers.........

Mike

Yeah, it could rank up there with them, but I don't think it will be the WORST reviewed movie of the year. Despite the bad reviews I'm still looking forward to seeing it and deciding for myself.

Yeah I'm going to see it in an hour...it looks funny......I love the part in the trailer that makes fun of Bring It On with the Bitch Cheerleader (Jaime Pressley)

"Bring It"
"It's already been BROUGHTEN!"

I'll let ya know what I think Mike

Yeah, I look forward to hearing your opinion. I'm going to see it at 7:00, I can't wait. And Jaime Pressley is so damn hot, I'd love to see her in more movies. I think she's a good actress and I can't wait to see her in this movie. I just think it will be a lot of fun. And if it isn't that good I'll be very disappointed because I've been looking forward to it for so long.

The trailers are hilarious, let's just hope that the movie is as funny. I read a review somewhere that said they actually saved the funniest parts for the movie, not the trailer. I hope that's true. I'm crossing my fingers...

Anyway, have a fun time...

I just saw this movie, and I must say I laughed my ass off! Gross-out humor, making fun of anything from American Pie to She's All That to Sixteen Candles. . .the list goes on and on. Funny. Leave your brain at the door and just go enjoy some rude crude hilarious humor.

Not Another Teen Movie would have to be one of the funniest "stupid" movies I have seen in a long time.

You guys all know the story, so I'll spare you the details.

What I liked:

The cast for the most part was great. Chris Evans as The Popular Jock was hilarious, he was so hammy just like a young George Hamilton. Mia Kirshner (Catherine - The Cruelest Girl in School) was deliciously funny as the Jock's sister. They have the Cruel Intentions style relationship here and it was hilarious.
Chyler Leigh as The Pretty Ugly Girl Janie is one hottie. WOW! Jaime Pressley and the rest of the principal characters were funny, all of them hamming it up and going beyond camp.

The references to all of the teen movies was great. You've got The Breakfast Club, American Beauty, Varsity Blues, Drive Me Crazy, Can't Hardly Wait, Sixteen Candles (which Janie masturbates to), 10 Things I Hate About You, Porky's, American Pie, Bring It On, Cruel Intentions, Final Destination, Never Been Kissed and especially She's All That.

I loved the song and dance number before the prom, it was pure genius. I loved the Bring It On style cheeroff, I loved the Molly Ringwald cameo but the thing I loved most was the cheerleader with Tourette's, she made me laugh so hard.

However there was a few things that I disliked. Randy Quaid as Janie's father annoyed me. The toilet humour scene was not funny, I didn't get the whole Melissa Joan Hart scene, the football coach was stupid and the clapping guy got on my nerves.

Not Another Teen Movie will be dismissed by most people. Yes it's juvenile, yes it's stupid but HELLO! that's the point of the movie.

If you want a lot of good laughs and have 78 minutes to spare check out this film. (Yes it's that short).

And it's a helluva lot funnier than Scary Movie.

For Entertainment Value 9/10
For Actual Goodness 5/10

I give it a 7/10 or *** of ****

Er it wasn't as funny as I expected, but there were a few amusing moments and a neat musical moment that is really well-made heh.

5/10 is about right http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I saw it tonight and I loved it. It was almost like someone gave me laughing gas before seeing this movie because I just couldn't stop laughing.

First of all this movie has the hottest chicks in it. OH MY GOD!!! And getting to see a lot of hot naked chicks was a big plus. A lot of the girls in the theater were groaning because this movie has tits galore. And all the girls get is a fat guys ass in the lockeroom, glad I'm not a chick, of course if I was I'd be a lesbian anyway.

"Not Another Teen Movie" has so many funny gags and there's no way I could mention them all. Only one sticks out as being extremely unfunny, and that's the coach saying God damn all the time, that wasn't funny, just plain stupid. I don't think anyone in the theater found him funny. But a lot of people were laughing non-stop during the movie so don't worry, it was funny. I found the girl with Tourette to be pretty funny. In fact, for most of the movie pretty much everything is downright hilarious with an unfunny joke every once in awhile. But as the movie gets towards the end it loses steam and just isn't as funny as it was. I mean sure it's still pretty funny but the jokes weren't coming at us as fast as they were earlier in the movie. But that's ok, overall Not Another Teen Movie is one hell of a fun time with some cool characters.

I think my favorite character was The Cruelest Girl In School (Mia Kirshner), she was so hot and the whole attraction to her brother was so hilarious. In fact, I loved the part during the whole musical/dance number where she's on her bed and goes "Who Cares if we have the same mother, because tonight I'm going to fuck my brother," or something to that effect anyway. I thought it was very funny. Lacey Shabert was so damn hot in her Jennifer Love Hewitt role, DAMN SHE FINE!!! Chyler Leigh as Janie was extremely hot and I loved her "crying" scenes. Oh, and how could I forget, her paintings, OH MY GOD, they were so funny. When Jake (The Popular Jock) asked her who her picture was of she goes "my mother" and it was a stick person, I cracked up laughing.

I also loved the Cruel Intentions type makeout scene with the old lady and The Cruelest Girl In School, that was another hilarious scene.

The movie had quite a few laugh out loud moments and sometimes I was laughing so hard I started choking and I could barely breath.

The whole movie was just a lot of "FUN" and a MUST SEE for any fan of gross out humor. Unfortunately though it lost quite a bit of steam towards the end so I can't give it full credit. I'm just happy the movie had more hits than misses. If you are looking for a "laugh your ass off" movie and you like gross out humor, or you just want to see some good T&A then this movie is for you.

By the way, the movie also has a really good soundtrack that I plan on buying.

Not Another Teen Movie is a very funny flick and I recommend it. It's best seen in a packed theater, it's just more fun that way.

I want to see this baby again!!!

Grade: 7/10

You laughed your ass off and loved it, but it only gets a "good" rating of 7/10?

I did laugh my ass off and I did love it but it's not worth anymore than a 7/10 because towards the end it lost a lot of steam which makes it lose points. It was fun while it lasted but the movie doesn't deserve anymore than a 7/10.

Gotcha! And that seems to be a trend with parody films... they lose momentum towards the end.

Yeah, they usually do. Which is too bad because I was having a great time and then all of a sudden it's like "where's the laughs?" They were there but just not as many as the movie first started dishing out. Overall though it is worth checking out, it was pretty funny. And I recommend people see it in the theater, I don't think it would be as funny watching it on video, especially if you watch it by yourself. I suppose if it was watched with a big group of people on video it would still be pretty good. But seeing it in a packed theater is more fun. I'd check it out opening weekend because then there's more people.

Well it seem's that everyone liked or loved this movie, that's okay though, it's not really my type of movie, I didn't like it. I think I would have liked it alot more then I did if it came out sometime in the summer, becuase at this time of the year I like to focus on Oscar-worthy movie's, not anything else, here's an example: American Pie 2, if it came out this December and not late summer I probaly would have hated it, but since it came in the summer I laughed my ass off. Here's my point, during the summer I like to see comedies, teen movies, or just plain old entertaining movie's, but in December I like to see movie's that are Oscar-Worthy...

Hell yeah, she was so damn beautiful. And I only saw Party Of Five a couple times so that's probably why it didn't bother me. Oh man whenever she entered the room in Not Another Teen Movie I could have drooled. I went with a friend of mine to the movie and he thought she was the hottest chick in the movie, plus he's thought she was hot ever since he saw her in Lost In Space. I never saw that movie though. Anyway, it's hard to imagine anyone not finding her hot in this movie. She had the Jennifer Love Hewitt thing down. And when she enters the party and that one guy says nobody can start talking until she starts moving again was pretty funny. And then when she starts moving this one girl says "It's about time, she took longer than last time." I thought it was pretty funny. Since they do that all the time in teen movies, have a hot girl walk in a room and everyone stops talking and the slow motion starts. And the whole "clap" thing was funny, not hilarious, but funny. Since in teen movies I swear there's always a big group of people that start clapping. But the guy in this movie just didn't know the right time to clap.

Anyway, yes, I thought Lacey Chabert was DAMN HOT!!!

WOW, I just found out that Mia Kirshner (The Cruelest Girl In School) is the chick from CBS's WOLF LAKE. It didn't even look like her.

Anyway, NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE grossed 5 Million dollars on Friday placing 3rd.
I'm happy it will at least make it's budget back this weekend, it cost 15 Million to make.

Stupid gross-out movies ARE my type of movie,....but this sucked. I cant see why so many people in your theater was laughing, UNLESS there actually was laughing gas circulating the theater, because at the theater I was in almost half of the people left about 45 minutes in. I was thinking about it, but it was my 8 bucks, and I didnt want to waste it,......oh wait! I already did. Personally, I prefered Scary Movie, and I didnt even like Scary Movie that much.

NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE should hold up well through the holidays according to www.hollywood.com (http://www.hollywood.com) :

Columbia's R rated comedy spoof of teen movies Not Another Teen Movie opened in third place to a sexy ESTIMATED $13.1 million at 2,365 theaters ($5,539 per theater).

Directed by Joel Gallen and produced by Neal H. Moritz, it stars Jaime Pressly, Mia Kirshner and Randy Quaid.

"Certainly, we're pleased. It's a $15 million negative, which probably will make it one of the more profitable holiday movies," Sony Pictures Entertainment worldwide marketing & distribution president Jeff Blake said Sunday morning, adding with an eye on the film's amusing marketing campaign that, "Neither 'the popular jock' nor 'the nasty cheerleader' are profit participants. It will probably beat some of the big star holiday movies in that regard."

As for comparisons to past hits, Blake noted, "Dude, Where's My Car opened Dec. 15, 2000 and did $13.8 million and [wound up with] $46.5 million. Deuce Bigalow opened Dec. 10, 1999 to $12.2 million and did $65.5 million. I don't think you get the huge openings necessarily, but when you're a comedy alternative that holds throughout the holiday season you certainly hope to add up. We sort of split the difference between those two openings and, hopefully, we'll split the difference between those two gross totals."

In terms of who was on hand opening weekend, Blake pointed out, "It's pretty well equal male and female. Our sweet spot was certainly 17 to 25."

-I think it should hold up well with no school over Christmas vacation and it's pretty much the only comedy aimed at teens, other than How High...
