DUNST FACING TROUBLE OVER COSTUME THEFT


Actress Kirsten Dunst risks facing the wrath of movie bosses after reportedly stealing a "Spider-Man" costume and selling it on the Internet.

The sexy big screen star -- who reteams with Tobey Maguire in "Spider-Man 2" -- took the suit from the studio and then made thousands of dollars auctioning it on eBay.com.

She says, "I stole the suit and sold it on eBay for lots of money. I got $34,000 for it."

However, movie insiders tell Britain's Daily Sport newspaper the actress may live to regret her lucrative opportunism -- because studio bosses are considering bringing in police to investigate the theft.

One says, "When the studios find out about this they will not be happy. They could even get the police involved. Lots of actors pilfer things from movie sets as keepsakes, but selling them could be frowned upon."

If (and I'm saying if, I personally doubt it) this turns out to be true, then all I can say is that Dunst is pretty stupid. I mean, her next acting gig will bring in several times more money than that Spidey costume. So what's the point? I doubt the studio will press charges though, as long as she's still a box office attraction (they might take it off her salary though).

Debbie Renyolds was a class act about collecting old costumes, etc. she knew the value, historically and financially of such items, and wanted to preserve them.
