Man am I just dying to see this movie. I'm seeing it Friday night and I am so psyched. The movie looks absolutely hilarious and I'm prepared to have a great time. I have extremely high hopes for this movie so I better not be disappointed or I'll be pissed. I'm not expecting anything less than great from it. I love spoofs and the way it looks this one has a chance to beat out Scary Movie as my favorite spoof. I'm prepared to have a fun time Friday night.
Who else is going to see it?

To me, this looks much worse than the barely mediocre Scary Movie. It's a shame that parodies aren't funny anymore. The Naked Gun and Airplane! are some of the greatest. It's also a shame, because "teen movies" are the kind of movies that I think need to be made fun of more often. But Not Another Teen Movie looks more like one of those crappy teen movies than a quality comedy to me.
The only good thing I can think of to say about it was that Mia Kirshner looked pretty got in the trailers. Other than that, I'm expecting this movie to be one of the worst of the year. Maybe even worse than Corky Romano (2/10)!

DAMN Colin! I soooo agree with you again. At first I wanted to see it, but now I just so don't and it keeps getting stupider and stupider looking... lol

Fuck me! The Arrow and I were supposed to see it tonight but arrived late at the screening and it was SOLD OUT. Fuck me!! That's just another movie that I'm gonna have to see over the weekend... http://www.joblo.com/ubb/mad.gif
We did go have beers and nachos instead, so the night wasn't a total loss...(although the nachos sucked!)
BTW, I think the flick's gonna be another one of those half/half parody movies. Some jokes are gonna work, some won't...and that'll be that! Although I did hear somewhere that it was rated R, so I guess titties and swearing are in...and that's ALWAYS COOL! http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif

It looks decent. When I first saw the trailer, I cracked up, but after awhile that chick falling through the floor just wasn't funny any more.
That really sucks Joblo, I was really looking forward to reading your review in the morning. I wanted to read your review before I go see it but it doesn't look like that will happen. DAMN!

Thanks Mike! That's too bad JoBlo. I was also looking forward to reading your review. I'll just have to wait for it then! But still,I would have been pissed off about it being sold out,if that happened to me. (At least you enjoyed that beer!)
The review from Lee's Movie Info just got in, check it out:
During my teen years, I, like many in my peer group was portrayed by characters in a series of films that dealt with teen issues and lifestyles. Most of the better films were by John Hughes who in his pre Home Alone days gave us many classics in this genre. Films ranging from "The Breakfast Club", "Sixteen Candles", "Pretty in Pink" and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", not only made stars out of a bevy of young actors, but created scenarios and characters that became part of the American culture.
As the 1990s came around teen films underwent a change. The Brat Pack as they became known were to old to play the rolls that made them famous and forced them to make the difficult transition from teen stars to adult rolls that were far less successful then their earlier works. Before long a new generation of teen stars ranging from Freddie Prinze Jr. to Jason Biggs emerged. The fact that many of the actors were in there twenties was of little concern to audiences as teens once again flocked to the theaters.
Many of the new films lacked the charm of the previous generation of films but they did continue the traditions of horny teens learning about life and love in settings and situations that were far more common in Hollywood than they ever would be in reality. As the quality of the films dropped, it became harder and harder to tell them apart, as casts and titles were so generic that distinguishing between them was difficult for even the most devoted fans.
In 2000 Keenan Ivory Wayans took aim at the horror film genre and had audiences laughing in the aisles with "Scary Movie". The fact that the rushed sequel was not as popular seemed to make little difference to filmmakers as it turned a profit and showed that spoof films have a built in audience. With the horror genre already covered, screenwriters Mike Bender and Adam Epstein decided to take aim at teen films and created "Not Another Teen Movie". The movie is a mixed bag of spoofs and scenes that are all too familiar to anyone who has ever seen a teen film in the last twenty years. The film is set in John Hughes High School and features the usual assortment of characters. There is the beauty in nerds clothing Janey Briggs (Chyler Leigh), The air headed but rich and popular jock Jake Wyler (Chris Evans), The Obsessive best friend Ricky (Eric Jungmann), The bitchy cheerleader Priscilla( Jamie Pressly), The cruel girl Catherine Wyler (Mia Kirshner), and the Token Black Guy Malik (Deon Richmond). The characters also have a myriad of peers who are inspired from a range of teen films. The fat best friend, the sexy exchange student, and the geeks after sex, are just a few of the familiar characters that spend far more time getting in and out of trouble than they ever do in their classrooms.
The film does not have much of a plot in keeping with the films that inspired it. It is a mixture of scenes and scenarios from the films that inspired it. What it does have is an abundance of jokes some of which are very crude but also very funny. I was gagging at the re-enactment of the Lesbian kiss scene from "Cruel Intentions" and the "Grease" parody was inspired. The film loses its pacing towards the end of the film, and some of the jokes bomb badly. The filmmakers seem to be using the old "Airplane" style that the Zucker brothers perfected of bombarding the audience with jokes and taking the laughs when they arrive. For the most part this strategy works. While it is not going to win any awards or set standards for quality filmmaking, "Not Another Teen Movie" has some laughs and if you do not mind crude humor, you may just find yourself laughing along with the film as the press audience did. One of the biggest treats of the film is trying to discover what film they are spoofing before they move on to the next scene and spotting the number of cameos in the film. It is obvious that the creative forces did not take the film too seriously and if you do not, you just might find yourself laughing along.
3 stars out of 5
I'm sure it will be good!

Mia Kirshner does look hot as does Jaime Pressly. She is the hottest high school cheerleader ever. I too wish I could have read JoBlo's review, but that won't keep me from seeing it. Since I don't like teen movies, I'm happy to see a spoof like this.

I would have loved to go with you Lindesy, you are one lucky girl, my parents would never let me do that!
Ha! My local paper's review (actually a syndicated review from the Associated Press) gave this movie NO STARS out of 4! They haven't done this since Freddy Got Fingered!

Thanks Cy,Benny. I just looked at IMDb's review of it. They gave it 5 out of 10,and the review is pretty harsh. Even if people hate it,I'm still going to see it and I'll find out if it's good or not.

I saw it tonight and I loved it. It was almost like someone gave me laughing gas before seeing this movie because I just couldn't stop laughing.
First of all this movie has the hottest chicks in it. OH MY GOD!!! And getting to see a lot of hot naked chicks was a big plus. A lot of the girls in the theater were groaning because this movie has tits galore. And all the girls get is a fat guys ass in the lockeroom, glad I'm not a chick, of course if I was I'd be a lesbian anyway.
"Not Another Teen Movie" has so many funny gags and there's no way I could mention them all. Only one sticks out as being extremely unfunny, and that's the coach saying God damn all the time, that wasn't funny, just plain stupid. I don't think anyone in the theater found him funny. But a lot of people were laughing non-stop during the movie so don't worry, it was funny. I found the girl with Tourette to be pretty funny. In fact, for most of the movie pretty much everything is downright hilarious with an unfunny joke every once in awhile. But as the movie gets towards the end it loses steam and just isn't as funny as it was. I mean sure it's still pretty funny but the jokes weren't coming at us as fast as they were earlier in the movie. But that's ok, overall Not Another Teen Movie is one hell of a fun time with some cool characters.
I think my favorite character was The Cruelest Girl In School (Mia Kirshner), she was so hot and the whole attraction to her brother was so hilarious. In fact, I loved the part during the whole musical/dance number where she's on her bed and goes "Who Cares if we have the same mother, because tonight I'm going to fuck my brother," or something to that effect anyway. I thought it was very funny. Lacey Shabert was so damn hot in her Jennifer Love Hewitt role, DAMN SHE FINE!!! Chyler Leigh as Janie was extremely hot and I loved her "crying" scenes. Oh, and how could I forget, her paintings, OH MY GOD, they were so funny. When Jake (The Popular Jock) asked her who her picture was of she goes "my mother" and it was a stick person, I cracked up laughing.
I also loved the Cruel Intentions type makeout scene with the old lady and The Cruelest Girl In School, that was another hilarious scene.
The movie had quite a few laugh out loud moments and sometimes I was laughing so hard I started choking and I could barely breath.
The whole movie was just a lot of "FUN" and a MUST SEE for any fan of gross out humor. Unfortunately though it lost quite a bit of steam towards the end so I can't give it full credit. I'm just happy the movie had more hits than misses. If you are looking for a "laugh your ass off" movie and you like gross out humor, or you just want to see some good T&A then this movie is for you.
By the way, the movie also has a really good soundtrack that I plan on buying.
Not Another Teen Movie is a very funny flick and I recommend it. It's best seen in a packed theater, it's just more fun that way.
I want to see this baby again!!!
Grade: 7/10
NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE grossed 5 Million dollars Friday and should end up with around 15 Million for the weekend. I'm happy it will at least make it's budget back this weekend, it cost 15 Million to make.

I kinda liked it.
NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE should hold up well through the holidays according to www.hollywood.com (http://www.hollywood.com) :
Columbia's R rated comedy spoof of teen movies Not Another Teen Movie opened in third place to a sexy ESTIMATED $13.1 million at 2,365 theaters ($5,539 per theater).
Directed by Joel Gallen and produced by Neal H. Moritz, it stars Jaime Pressly, Mia Kirshner and Randy Quaid.
"Certainly, we're pleased. It's a $15 million negative, which probably will make it one of the more profitable holiday movies," Sony Pictures Entertainment worldwide marketing & distribution president Jeff Blake said Sunday morning, adding with an eye on the film's amusing marketing campaign that, "Neither 'the popular jock' nor 'the nasty cheerleader' are profit participants. It will probably beat some of the big star holiday movies in that regard."
As for comparisons to past hits, Blake noted, "Dude, Where's My Car opened Dec. 15, 2000 and did $13.8 million and [wound up with] $46.5 million. Deuce Bigalow opened Dec. 10, 1999 to $12.2 million and did $65.5 million. I don't think you get the huge openings necessarily, but when you're a comedy alternative that holds throughout the holiday season you certainly hope to add up. We sort of split the difference between those two openings and, hopefully, we'll split the difference between those two gross totals."
In terms of who was on hand opening weekend, Blake pointed out, "It's pretty well equal male and female. Our sweet spot was certainly 17 to 25."
-I think it should hold up well with no school over Christmas vacation and it's pretty much the only comedy aimed at teens, other than How High...
