Heh, I quoted this in a Celeb Talk/Gossip thread and it gave me the idea to start this.

I love this movie. It's probably one of the only few "chick" movies I like... Well, is it really a chick movie? It's got some sappiness, and a happy ending, but there's some crude humor.

Nancy M. Pimental (who ROCKS) wrote the movie. She's also a writer on South Park.

Jason Bateman was hilarious.
Selma Blair was and is awesome.

One of my favorite moments was when Cameron Diaz's character looked through a glory hole and got poked in the eye.

hehehe

Not the greatest movie to come out of Hollywood but if ya gotta watch I highly suggest the unrated version. WHY? It has the racy number in the resturaunt that was cut out of the theatre release but did appear in the ending credits...

i hated this movie. it tried to be a 'reverse gross out' movie, u know, for women. but it wasnt funny at all, and felt like it was 5 hours long.

I enjoyed "The Sweetest Thing". I'm definately not the biggest Cameron Diaz fan out there, but I was able to enjoy the film for what it was. I also agree with Tweek, and thought it was very cool that Nancy M. Pimental from "Win Ben Stein's Money", and "South Park" fame, wrote the script for the film.

I dont love it, but I like it.

This movie was pretty bad, but I do love it. Dumb fun. I have to say I think the Unrated DVD version isn't as good as the theatrical cut - that musical number they added back in should have remained lost. Just awful. One of the most awkward scenes ever filmed, if you ask me. The movie puts those three ladies through some embarassing stuff, but this is the one scene where you can tell they're pretty visibly uncomfortable with what's going on.

Anyways, any movie with Selma Blair banging a big purple elephant while Xtina Applegate and Cameron D strip on the side of a highway to the Pina Colada song is okay in my book.

I didn't hate it like others did, I thought it was just a fun stupid movie. It had its moments.

I thought it was one of the worst movies I've ever seen, and I love a good chick flick.

Agreed. I hated every single second of this smug, contrived, wannabe gross-out movie with heart.

The lead chics were hot, that's about it.

Oh how I hate this movie. It really got on my nerves that it advertised itself as a light romantic comedy kind of movie, then turned out to be not only a truly crude comedy ala There’s Something About Mary. Not only that, but it turned out to be a bad comedy ala There’s Something About Mary; not only totally repulsive, but I can’t recall every having actually laughed at this movie. I wanted to give Nancy Pimental the benefit of the doubt since I used to watch her on Win Ben Stein’s Money, but her script was awful; one of the worst of the decade so far. Cameron Diaz and Christina Applegate were incredibly annoying, and the penis song was one of the most embarrassing and least humorous moments I’ve ever seen in a movie, ever.

I thought that the Sweetest Thing was just horrible. I probably laughed no more than three or four times throughout. Cameron Diaz is not funny.
