According to Fango, Anchor Bay will be releasing a spiffy edition of Creepshow 2 on my birthday, September 28. The film itself is mediocre, but the cover art is so goddamn cool, I just might pick it up. Yes, I'm that superficial. Extras include a director's commentary, an effects featurette, and the usual suspects (a still gallery, storyboards, trailers, etc.).

Did I mention that the cover art is GODDAMN cool?

Never seen the movie, but is "The Raft" based on Stephen Kings short story? If you haven't read it, it's about teens on a raft in a lake. This black spot in the water starts devouring them...
I'd like to see a movie (well, a 3rd of a movie) adaptation if there was one.

Great cover art. :D
The film itself is ok if I remember, but THE RAFT story is the only one that sticks out.

Yeah, The Raft is easily the most refined story. It competes with the first film's vignettes, but the surrounding tales are bland and repetitious. Still, I'm eager to see what this flick looks like with a burnished widescreen transfer.

Same here, but I remember The Hitchhiker quite well too.
And yeah, the art cover kills.

Wow great cover. It's just like the first poster for the original Creepshow.

Yeah I'll probably buy it just for the cover art too. But THE RAFT was a cool little story. Would love to see that again.
HANG ON!!! Something just came back to me!!!!
A story with a wooden indian statue? Some bad guys robbing the convenience store it sits outside? (one looks like a poor LOU DIAMOND PHILLIPS - saying he's going to make it in Hollywood). Don't they accidently kill the old store owner and then the Indian statue comes after them?
How could I forget that story?!! It was fucking awesome. I'm sure that was CREEPSHOW 2?

Damn! Anchor Bay seems to be pushing all the right buttons recently. First the Dawn Of The Dead Boxset, then the Halloween and Hellraiser boxsets for R2 fans, and now this. Shit, give these guys the Friday The 13th series and we have ourselves the top DVD company in the world!

This is good news, I've always enjoyed both Creepshows, part 2 makes me laugh for some reason, particularly the hitch-hiker tale, "thanks for the ride lady!!" as he bangs on the car bonnet, fucking hilarious!!. Although both films are completely contrived it makes for good entertainment!!.
"Thanks for the ride lady!!!!!!!!!!!":D

He even has the title "King of all schmoes" to prove it now, Skweem ;)
As for those covers, both are exceptional.

I have a soft spot for Creepshow 2, although it's nowhere near as good as the first.
The cover art is superb, however.

Hey, just thought I'd throw this in here. Did anyone know that there is a comic book adaptation of the first Creepshow?
I've flipped through it, and it's pretty loyal to the movie. Decent art too.

Creepshow 2 consists of 3 stories:
*SPOILERS*
"Old chief wood'n head" 7/10
A wooden statue that comes back to life when the owners of a little shop get robbed and killed.
By other means "REVENGE (is a sweet thing)" ;)
" The raft" 10/10
Four teenagers went for a swim in a lake with a raft on it.
They will be terrorised by a spongy monster and killed one by one.
"The hitchhiker" 8/10
A women kills a hitcher by accident and even when he's dead he keeps on haunting her.
