This movie had all the good in it..it was one of the best movie i´d seen in quite a while.
That sense of dread and unease made me love it from begining to end but until this day i have not seen those alt. scenes that the dvd has and i know there was an alt. ending and that a lot of people say´s that it ruined the movie experience for them watching it.
I dont know about that, but what i do know is that i´d like to have a cool and inteligent conversation with people who loved it or liked it and can tell me their own point of view about it.
There are a lot of things that come un related to the movie inside of it, and a lot of unexplained stuff and i´d like to know whats the meaning of it or what do you think is the meaning of it.
----------Possible Spoilers--------------------
-What´s with the coins?
-What was hank doing all that time and still alive?
-Was simon satan? was simon supposed to be everyones own sub-concious waiting to be awakened?
-Was it all on Gordons mind?
-Was Gordon a patient there a long time ago?
-Why are there so much loose simbolism on the movie?
Stuff like that..questions like those is what makes this movie so frigging great.
remember---I live..In the weak..and the Wounded.

Coins - All the goodies that Hank was collecting from the hole in the wall were coming from the a crematory. He was basically "grave" robbing.
Hank - Hank was lost in the hospital and suffering from an amature lobotomy given to him by Gordon.
Does Simon=Satan - One of those things that to me is left up to viewer interoperation. I did not see the movie as a ghost or possession movie. Gordon was already unhinged before working at the hospital and everything just came to a head.
I see Simon as that part that everybody has inside them, a potential rage that is kept locked inside. Sometimes it wants to leap out when you get cut off on the highway, or you feel that you were unjustly hurt by another person. When we are weak or wounded it becomes much harder to control that primal rage.
In Gordon's Mind - No they are all dead, he killed them.
Which symbolism are you talking about??? Gordon sitting on Mary's grave talking into a broken cell phone??
One of my favorite movies

****SPOILERS****
izombie is spot all with everything he said, and I agree with his interpretation of Simon.
Simon represents that part of us all which we keep in check, the primal rage. Rightly, it is much harder to control in the weak and wounded...Gordon was both - the prospect of going under financially already had him extremely vulnerable and on the edge, and his wounding at the hands of his wife made him snap - and Simon took over.
Fantastic film...I showed it to a friend recently and he was totally surprised he hadn't heard of it before. He took it off to the Netherlands to show his girlfriend! :D

This movie made my very uneasy. There was something about it that struck a nerve.
I love the slow creeing pace and the underlined paronia that was building up in everyone.
Great film. Smart, inventive, scary as hell, and just plain mond boggling.
9/10

My interpretation. (spoilers ofcourse)
Simon is a demon spirit of some kind that is allowed to take over when a host is weak or wounded. Reasons:
-Gordon didn't hear Simon's voice until he walked into that room that we assume is the room that the girl from the tapes stayed. coincidence?
-When it flashes back to Gordon attacking Hank in the dark hall he appears to be being lead by something, almost possesed.
-Isn't the voice heard again when the graves are discovered. I can't recall.
P.S.
I have been to the Mental institute in Danvers Ma. Creepy as hell.

I came away from the movie thinking that the spirit of Mary Hobbes possessed Gordon and this led to the return of Simon. I thought that in Gordon, Mary saw herself, and this was a way to come back and get vengeance for her horrible life.
There are so many ways to interpret this movie. It's a movie that makes you think as well as creeps the bejeezus out of you, and this is why I love Session 9. The alternate ending on the DVD had me going WTF? but I'm glad the filmmakers dropped the homeless woman angle and just stuck with the Mary/alternate personalities story.

Personally, and honestly (as in, I'm not trying to be a jackass):
This movie sucked.
First of all, I started watching it thinking I was in for a really fucking scary good time. WRONG! Zero actual scares, just mildly eerie atmosphere.
After a while I realized it wasn't going to be scary, and would likely suck. So, I got over the fact that it wasn't horror, and started to absorb it. The plot was good, and was a nice mystery. I liked how it was very decieving as to what was going on (perspective!). However, it was just boring, and not exciting. It would have made a nice episode of Tales from the Crypt, but I felt it was just too boring and pointless to be a 2 hour movie. Most of the time nothing happened, and when it did...well, nothing happened.
And the Simon thing? Bah. Just added in to TRY to make the movie a little creepy. As far as I'm concerned, Gordon was just a nutcase. The Simon thing was simply to give us something to think about, but I found the movie to be in no way scary/thrilling/shocking.
BORING!

Well I don't know of any stores located "deep within my dreams" so you might be out of luck. :D
Where are you from? Blockbuster usually has it, and they tend to sell most of the movies that they have been renting for awhile.

LOL. Sorry that "Deep within your dreams" is pretty stupid, but I couldnt think of anytihng good.
Im live in Florida. I always buy flicks from blockbuster but I never saw Session 9 there.
Maybe I should look a little harder.

people in the US should always try amazon and ebay if you have accounts....
SPOILERS
and yeah this movie was great. The message I got out of it was that everyone can have split personalities and you never really know what's going on inside a person's body by their outside behavior. The Mary tapes were just there to help the viewer figure it out.
I still didn't quite get the coin dropping scenes...but the movie was still great.
Finally, this is a horror movie. It could be viewed as a supernatural, psychological, or in some ways even a slasher-type horror movie.

This was one ofthose movies with a lot of hype surrounding it. Whenever this happens I'm almost always dissapointed when I finally see it. For this reason I put off watching it for awhile even though I bought it seven or so months before I sat down and watched it. For a change, hype could not ruin it!! EXCELLENT film. The end just gave me shivers. Not becasue of creepy effect, but because of how true this is. Things people dont really speak of in films, or like to think about in general.

I am a huge horror fan. I actually had never heard of this when I saw it in the store. The box made me want to rent it. I took it home and it had a couple of good moments but overall I would give it a 5/10. Not great, but not horrible.

I loved this creepy effective horror movie. Has anyone watched the deleted scenes? Good thing they were cut out, those extra scenes did nothing for the story.
