Whoever saw Late Night with Conan O'Brien saw Conan rant to Benjamin Bratt about superhero identities.
It reminded me to start this thread.

Anyway, what is UP with superheros?

Like Superman!

They don't even try to hide his face.

But the thing that gets me most is in an early Spider-man/Daredevil crossover.

Daredevil and Spider-man battle the Ringmaster. The Ringmaster had set up a circus and used his weird hat to hypnotize the audience. Matt Murdock, of course, was the only one not hypnotized.

And Spider-man, toward the end of the issue thinks, "Well, wherever Daredevil is, I'm glad he enjoyed the show. Although I wonder how he managed to resist the Ringmaster's hypnosis. It all happened so suddenly that only a blind man could have been unaffected. But naturally that can't be the answer! Oh, well I'll dope it out someday!"

What the hell?! A blind superhero isn't as farfetched as a dude with spider powers.
Grrrrr!

That's what I hate about superhero stories.

Especially...
RANDOM PERSON: I wonder where Civilian Identity is! He's never around when Superhero Alter Ego is!

In closing... MEH

Like in Batman and Robin, when Batgirl looks up at Batman through her tiny little mask that ONLY COVERS HER EYES and says "It's me, Batman!"

LOL!

And Catwoman...
I read that Halle is one of the only two black women in the movie.
And that mask hides nothing then!

It may not make a whole lot of sense when Clark Kent simply takes off his glasses and then no one knows he becomes Superman. But I don't worry too much about it, given how cheesy and fun it was that in the Batman 60's show, Adam West was the only one who talked and spoke like him, and yet no one had a clue

Something in Spiderman 2 is that Peter Parker doesn't want to reveal his identity because his enemys could harm his loved ones. But he keeps telling to everyone that he's "Spiderman's photographer" which is just as bad.

Yeah,
in the comics J. Jonah Jameson hired a guy who eventually becomes the scorpion to follow peter to see how he gets the pictures.
but peter's spidey sense warns him.

I was always fond of Robin, Batmans bright and shiney decoy. That costume sure didnt go along ways torwards scaring any villians, that for sure!

Nothing says Dark Knight better than his sidekick wearing GREEN, RED AND YELLOW!

1) Batman Forever/Batman Comics: Nobody who knew Bruce Wayne even thought about how big of a damn coincidence it was that Robin appeared at the same time that Wayne took in Dick Grayson.

2) Daredevil: Kingpin finds out Murdock is Daredevil, but forbids anyone to hurt Murdock.
So when everyone thinks Kingpin is dead, Murdock becomes a target. Then some guy gets caught by the F.B.I and tells them who Daredevil is for shorter prison time.
Some F.B.I agent let's a tabloid know that Murdock s Daredevil wich causes a frenzy. In the end Murdock denies being Daredevil and so on.
That's the only "identity revealed" I know.

3) The Hulk and Luke Cage (Unbreakable Man or whatever) are the only two superheros I can think up , who everyone knows who is.

4) Spider-Man: Nobody in the comics wondered how Peter Parker got all those pictures of Spidey while he was wall-crawling!

5) Superman:

Random Person: How did you do that Kent?

*Clark takes glasses off*

Random Person: Shit!

I'll try to think of some more...But my brain is tired now.

Actually there's a new one.

Spider-man.
The Vulture has now seen Spider-man without his mask and got depressed because Peter is so "average"
and i think jameson got some pictures of spidey unmasked from a freelancer that works in the hospital where peter is. (He got hurt as spider-man, had to be taken to the hospital, the doctor took off his mask to tend to his wounds)

One "secret" identity that bothered me more than Superman's, is definately Batman.

The long list of people that know Bruce Wayne is Batman, includes;

Alfred Pennyworth
Dick Grayson
Tim Drake
Barbara Gordon
LeslieThompkins (crime alley clinic manager, sometimes Bat-doctor)
Superman
Flash
Aquaman
Jean Paul Valley (Azrael)
and
Tempest.

Another thing is that the old Teen Titans know that Dick Grayson was Robin. So you have to assume that Dick Grayson's teammates also know that Bruce Wayne is Batman. The assassin, Deathstroke, also knows that Grayson was Robin. So he also might have figured it out as well.

As far as Bat-Villians go, the list includes;

Ra's Al Ghul & his daughter, Talia
Bane
and recently
The Riddler

So much for a "secret" identity....

How did Bane know? Forgive me, I dont read comics. I'm just basing this on Batman and Robin. Because Bane didnt do much in that movie other than roar and be Uma's bitch. As I would do as well. Happily.

In the comics Bane was Batman's worst enemy. He was as strong(er) as he was in the movie, but he was also one of Batman's most intelligent enemy aswell.....Batman & Robin made him a dumbshit.

Secret identities never work out well with superheroes, but I love em so I am not that annoyed by it.

I remember watching the Spiderman cartoons, and everytime Spidey was late for something and M.J would get all pissed, I'd yell at the screen "TELL HER GODDAMNIT!"

Tweek, I vaguely remember exactly how Aquaman found out Batman's secret identity, but a WIZARD special on Batman confirmed it. As Aquaman was on the list of people that know Bruce Wayne is Batman.

Oh, and thanks for explaining Bane, Jason_fan 1 (hey, I know you've heard this before but, nice avatar).
Bane is extremely intelligent in the comics version. In the KnightFall storyline, when Bane's introduction was into full gear, Bane blew apart Arkham Asylum. Releasing countless 'patients' in the process. To make a long story short, Batman fought to the point of being physically exhausted, then returned to Wayne Manor where he found Bane waiting for him.
Bane used Batman's weakened state to his advantage, and managed to do something none of the other bat villians could ever accomplish. He broke the bat.

Which caused Wayne to choose Jean Paul Valley (Azrael), as his successor. Who ultimately became 'Azrael Batman' (for the lack of a better term), and whos attitude reflected more of The Punisher's line of thinking, than Batman's. 'Azrael Batman' ultimately brought Bane down in a bloody fight in Batman #500.
Which lead to KnightQuest, where 'Azrael Batman' ruled Gotham, and displayed how ruthless he could be. Wayne rehabilitated himself, and returned as Batman for KnightsEnd. Where Bruce Wayne faced Jean Paul Valley, over the mantle of the bat.

Bane eventually escaped from prison (big surprise), and quickly became a servant, as well as protector to Ra's Al Ghul. Who briefly considered Bane to be a potential mate for his daughter, Talia.

Oh BTW, recently there was a storyline with Bane where he revealed to Bruce that they may infact be half brothers. As there was some evidence that Thomas Wayne was infact Bane's father as well. It turned out to be false, as test results showed that Wayne was in no way related to Bane.

Basically, pay no attention to the dumbshit that appeared in the Batman & Robin movie. :D
