This actually looks pretty funny to me. It looks to be a fun, if silly and stupid romp. Early buzz says it's better than most comedies of it's type, so it could be great.

I guess I'll repost it here.
Harold and Kumar review
SPOILERS!
Well, I'm glad I didn't have to pay to see Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle. It's certainly not the worst movie I've ever seen, but if ever a movie screamed rental, this is it. It really isn't worth paying to see this in a theater. Home viewing was made for movies like this.
Anyways. So Harold and Kumar live together and are the best of friends. Harold is a financial analyst and a passive do-gooder. He follows the rules and does what he's told. He's also fairly quiet, and way too shy to talk to a girl named Maria that he has a crush on. Kumar, a slacker who's father wants him to attend medical school, has no real ambitions and is a very mellow dude. While their personalities may differ, they share one common interest: weed. They both love to get high.
One random Friday night, they decide to get something different to eat while they have the munchies. They want White Castle burgers. Easier said than done. When they discover that the White Castle they planned on eating at is actually a Burger Shack, and that the nearest White Castle is 45 minutes away, a series of misadventures begins.
A lot happens in the course of the evening. There's the redneck losers who fancy themselves extreme athletes of some kind and are always harrassing them. There's a drugged-out Neal Patrick Harris stealing Harold's car. There's racist cops, a cheetah, a racoon, European girls who eat bad Mexican food, and much more. The trailer gives away a lot of the gags, or at least their set up.
I found the jokes and gags extremely hit and miss. We all know how subjective comedy is. I loved the parody of an anti-drug commercial. There's also some clever send-ups of racial stereotypes that are amusing. Some of the one-liners are funny as well. But, for me, a lot of stuff wasn't funny at all. Hot girls having a shitting contest. Not funny. The constant gay jokes and gay bashing that so many of these movies (Eurotrip) have. Not funny. A wild racoon and a nice cheetah. Not funny. Anthony Anderson cameo. Not funny. Harold and Kumar singing a cheesy pop sing in the car. How many times has that been done? Not funny.
Overall, it's short, fairly painless and almost instantly forgettable. I did laugh here and there (I know many guys who wanted to see The Gift for one reason only; you'll see what I mean) and the two leads are likeable. But it's no comedy classic and I didn't find it as funny as Dodgeball or Anchorman. It would make a decent rental, especially with a group of friends. Extremely mediocre.

I like White Castle, though.
And speaking of cheeseburgers, I'd kill to have one right now. Big, juicy, pink, fattening, greasy, steaming-hot burger...

The trailer was pretty lame but I can't help liking the idea of this movie. I'll probably end up renting it.
Also, damn you New Hampshire for not having any White Castle joints!

When I first saw the trailer for H & K, I thought it looked purty average. Nothing special. But the underground buzz has been great, and I've been reading tons of interviews with the writers. Now, I'm actually anticipating this flick. Looks like to be a goofy, fun time to me.

Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle actually looks pretty damn funny to me. However, this is not a film I'm dying to see in the theaters. So I'll wait for the DVD to rent.

The movie looks pretty decent to me, though no need to see it in the theaters. Looks better to see w/ a large group of friends than the people I usually see movies with, so I'll give this a pass for now

Saw this one at a sneak preview last night.
I was really excited about this movie, i was under the impression it was going to bring back the humor of a good ol' fasion American Pie. Damn it looked good.
I'm sorry it wasn't that way, It was very dumb, and ill-humored. I smiled one time, and thinking back at what was some what amusing isn't anymore. It just didn't do it for me.
I would go into more detail, but i don't want to do any spoilers before it comes out nationwide.

Average acting and hit or miss humor. I will never find poop jokes funny and I don't like the whole gross out thing. That being said, the funny moments and the attempt at a "message" made it a decent way to spend four bucks. The highlight of the film was easily the fantasy Kumar had wuth himself and the giant bag of marijuana.

Ever been stoned and hungry? If so you'd realize that anytime you're craving food it's never a pointless adventure :P
Anyways, I enjoyed the movie, and gave its fair share of laughs. Overall I left the theater satisfied. Can't say the same about The Village...

Saw it, loved it, seeing it again soon. I'm upset this didn't make too much money, because I was hoping for a sequel. But it'll probably do well on video and through word of mouth. THey should have pushed the release backa month til when college was back in session.
People keep talking about the bag of pot montage, but in my opinion that was one of the slow points of the movie. The extreme mix CD was my fav; I'm already working on replicating it.

It was really funny, but I'm surprised it's getting the buzz it's getting.
The highlights for me:
"You sank my battleshit!"
All of the fantasy sequences. Didn't anyone else dig Harolds video game dream?
Neil Patrick Harris
The cheetah ride.
The movie also had some subtle jokes or quick ones that were funny. Like when Kumar's dad said something about "coming" and the crop circle was funny.
I do agree that this movie would be better on home video. For anything, just so you can keep pace (you know what I mean?) and also it would have been nice to eat some burgers while watching them look for some burgers.
It would have been a GENIUS marketing ploy if they would be offering White Castle burgers in the theaters showing this movie. Mmmmmm, burgers.

I'm glad I have HBO, because maybe months from now when I've forgotten all the hype this can turn into a "suprise" fun Saturday movie... I'm not seeing it in theatres...
I was hoping this would turn into something similar to Dude, Where's My Car, except perhaps that it would be funny this time around. Surprise, surprise when I find out that the flick even resorts to pulling out material from Dude... to fill running time. Not cool. One of the year's biggest "shoulda been betta" films.
And what's next for this "franchise"? A gay/lesbian duo venture to the White House but have to stop by White Castle on the way?
Dude... and this flick are both films that I wish I could laugh at, but from all indicators I'm instead filing them both under "must be stoned to view".
And as I side note: Beavis and Butt-head do America (which I'm sure the director gets material from) has done pretty much all of this before and better.
And as a further side note: Hey, a stack of White Castle Burgers. No, wait, that's my pack of Tic-Tacs.

Hahaha, yeah those parts were great. I saw this tonight, and enjoyed it. It's about what I expected, a decent comedy that provided lots of laughs, including a couple of hardy ones.

Everyones talking about thier favorite funny parts, well heres mine.
Its the scene when they first get high and are watching tv and that marijuana commercial comes on.
I just loved how stupid and cheesy it was because thats how all drug commercials are. As well as over the top. Like when that kid grabbed the shotgun, put his mouth over it and said "Im soooo high! I'm invincible!" and pulled the trigger.
Oh man, I was laughing for like 3 minutes after that.
When will anti-drug people realize that that shit does not happen when you are stoned?
If anything, the exact opposite happens. Like in this movie. They didnt do anything like that. They got the munchies like normal and set out to find food. Which is EXACTLY what happens. And is what happens in real life.
Heres what happened the last time I got stoned: I ate a bunch of Twizzlers and Reeses Peanut Butter Cups and then locked myself in my friends coat closet in hopes of jumping out and scaring him but ended up passing out while leaning against the door only to tumble to the floor later that night when he opened the door to get his coat to leave. I eventually ended up scaring the shit out of him because he thought I left and didnt know I was in there and when I tumbled out on top of him, he freaked.
So see? No shotguns. No "invincibility" talk. Nothing like that. Just stupid stoner shit like getting the munchies and falling asleep.

Ryan Renold's cameo had me kicking and screaming on the floor, a very rare feat. With that said I would like to introduce...
The see Harold and Kumar Foundation.... to give Clerk a sequel.
Yes folks that's right! All it costs you is 8 dollars to see Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle. If you love it, bring your friends to see it again and again, and keep the chain going. If you hate it, get back at your ex or boss and keep the chain going there. The goal here is to get the proposed Amsterdam sequel going. Then Clerk will die a happy man, and I KNOW all of you want that to happen.;) :(
I feel as if this film will grow on me over time so I can catch all the humor, much like Club Dread did. While some of the jokes fell flat with me (Battle shit, "Dont touch my baby," the ones that hit, hit hard. Harold and Kumar had great chemistry, and Doogie Howser was brilliant.
Is the cartoon sequence a new fad in movies? (Anchorman, Starsky and Hutch, etc) cause Im loving each one.:D

I actually found this flick entertaining, but again I saw it for free.
Yes some parts are better than others but some are also awesome.
The part about the Dad goes like this.
Kumar: Come on Dad.
Kumars Dad: Your Dad isn't comming on anything!
Nice.
And did you guys catch the Tee Shirts they were wearing.
Kumar briefly wears a tee shirt that reads.
I Love Bush-the pussy not the president
Brilliant!
And one of the jewish dudes is wearing a shirt that says.
Ass...
The other vagina
Man that had me rolling. I can see those shirts poping up all over the place!
I agree this will make a great home video rental.

Harold and Kumar was really funny. I saw it two nights ago and have been quoting it ever since. The two leads were great, especially Kal Penn. I'm hoping he gets some more roles in teh future as this movie proves he can carry a film. It was also surpsisingly engaging for a comedy. For example, over an hour into teh movie, my friend whispered "wow i just realized this movie is about 2 guys going to white castle". I was so entertained i didnt realize. My favorite scene was the bag of pot fantasy.

Very hit and miss, when it hits it's good(the marijuana bag fantasy)but when it misses it's horrid(Battleshits). I got bored about an hour through and just wanted them to get to white castle already but it was good none the less.
