Personally i think that The Empire Strikes back was the best one. i watched the whole trilogy yesterday and i'd have to say that the hoth battle, cool characters, and kind of unhappy ending make this one the best.

I love the Empire Strikes Back.I think the only reason I love Star Wars more is because I was 12 when it came out,and it just blew me away.I read the novel Lucas wrote and it added more to the story.I had never experienced a movie like that so my heart says A New Hope.Back then we didn't have video stores or the internet or even cable in my town so Star Wars,to us kids ,was out of this world.

"Empire". Not only the best SW movie, but one of the all-time greats.

Empire is by the best Star Wars movie of all-time, but my favorite is easily Jedi. It had the best action and the Emperor was just so freaking cool.

The mythos of Empire Strikes Back was amazing, and the cinematography was excellent. Also, one of the greatest twists in film history. Superb.

1.The Empire Strikes Back
2.A New Hope
3.Return of the Jedi - best special effects of the 3, but as far as the story goes pretty lame...

i agree with most people in saying:

1)Empire Strikes Back
2)New Hope
3)Return Of The Jedi

Although I agree Empire is the most complete of the three. I wanna stick up for the oft hassled Jedi. The ewok-battle may have been way too 'cute', but the battle between Luke and Palpatine at the end was the high-point of the entire trilogy - gotta love those lightening effects.

1.) Empire Strikes Back **** (one of the best sci-fi movies out there)
2.) A New Hope **** (Doesn't really deserve four stars, but hey it's STAR WARS for godsake)
3.) Return of The Jedi *** 1/2 (Fun, Fun, Fun, sure some of the scenes are stupid, but the ending and ewoks are just cool)
4.) The Phantom Menace *** (Very dissapointing, but it's not that bad guys, this had some very cool scenes and minus Binks it's pretty damn good)

Without a shadow of a doubt in my mind, Empire Strikes Back is a five star film, in my view, the greatest god damn film ever made.

I would have to say Empire because of the fight scenes. A New Hope was pretty good & I liked Return of the Jedi was good but it was too friggin' long.

"A New Hope" is the greatest of them all. I really don't see the big deal with Empire Strikes Back. Sorry...

"Empire" for me, too, followed by "Star Wars" (I know, I know, "A New Hope," but I'm thirty -one years old and it's been referred to as "Star Wars" a lot longer than "A New Hope"), "Phantom Menace," and "Jedi."

My favorite is Empire Strikes Back. Hard to explane why, it's just always been closest to me. And I've also liked Jedi very much, Phantom on the other hand wasn't nearly as good as it could have been... hopefully the story of the next episode will be better, and I also didn't like the way Phantom looked... too much computer generated images.

Empire Strikes Back is my favorite. Its the darkest of the three,is filled with action and ends in a kickarese way.

Then I like the original and then Jedi.

Jedi, who can compete with the ewoks.

THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK is the best for two reasons: the story is better than in NEW HOPE or JEDI, and it's more of an adult movie than RETURN (remember the little thingies...oh yeah, Ewoks!). The second reason is, for once, the bad guys won (even if it didn't last long, cause Sarlacc time finally came...)
Well, that's my advice anyway.

I loove that movie!!
I especially enjoyed the scene in cloud city where Darth Vader tells Luke that he's his son..
So cool!!
But i enjoyed the others, even the phantom menace (it wasn't great, but it wasn't bad)

Jedi...it has the greatest Star Wars moment ever: when Luke finally sees his dad's face for the first time

"A New Hope" for too many reasons to list here.

It is my opinion that Return of the Jedi is by far the best of the trilogy, my reasoning for this is because it had the best story and by far the best special effects. I found the dance scene in Return of the Jedi: Special Edition to be hilarious. IDIC.

The parts of Return of the Jedi without muppets (Yoda excepted) could have made it the best of the three, but unfortunately Lucas decided to show us that little fuck in Jabba's palace laughing over and over again.

I'm probably gonna be long-winded, but it's Star Wars were talking about here, so you'll have to excuse me.

The Empire Strikes Back (10/10) is my favorite. All four are excellent, but Empire is the best (in my humble opinion) for a number of reasons. I love the Battle of Hoth, the Asteroid Field scene and the Luke/Vader lightsaber fight. I've practically memorized the whole things, but I am still on the edge of my seat every time I watch them. Empire also gave us our first looks at some of the greatest characters of the Star Wars Universe, such as Yoda, Boba Fett, Lando Calrissian, and Admiral Piett (although I'm sure most don't really know who he is or care about him if they do). I still get chills every time I first see the ghost of Obi-Wan Kenobi or hear Vader say "I am your father." I loved the somber ending.

However, my favorite parts of The Empire Strikes Back has got to be the romance between Han Solo and Princess Leia, which is my favorite on-screen romance of all time (excluding Casablanca (10/10)). The two characters mixed perfectly with their opposite personalities. Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford have an incredible chemistry together right from that great first kiss to the excellent scene in which Han Solo is frozen in carbonite.

The acting is good too. Carrie Fisher and Mark Hammill are at their best here (Which doesn't say too much for Mark, but he did do a damn good job in this movie. I loved his reaction to hearing about his father.) Harrison Ford does the best job (of course) with an Oscar-worthy (despite the lack of nomination) performance. Billy Dee Williams isn't half bad either. Kenneth Colley (Admiral Piett) is good (and underrated) in his often forgotten supporting role.

DAMN, I love that movie. I'm gonna go watch it right now.
