Even a double thump-up for this great drama !!

Yes it is not a horror movie but more a drama but a very dark and somber drama with no happy end.
Do no watch this film if you are blue otherwise you could probably kill yourself and I am not kidding !

This movie is not for the squeamish even if not a lof of blood is seen, it is all about psychology.
Harsh harsh movie, really.
If you have empathy and a soul this is the perfect movie for you to watch.

9/10 a masterpiece but not for every-one.

i was quite impressed with this, it had a very interesting story and the characters grabbed me. also the ending was very depressing. im not generally interested in dramas but this makes me want to check out similar flicks from Asia

Sympathy is one of the hardest revenge dramas ever made. Uncompromisingly violent, extremely well-directed, and utterly unforgettable.

Chan Wook Park is one of the best new filmmakers in the world; this guy has a very bright future.

Much better than Takashi Miike, who can be hit or miss, and doesn't seem to be very consistent in pacing his films. But at tha rate Miike works at, he'll have made more films than anyone EVER by the end of his career. He's already directed what something like 60 films & tv shows in 14 years?? Definitely a workaholic.
