Hey, I don't know if this was done before, if so please delete it. I thought it would be interesting to post out monthly top 10 just like we post all the movies we watch each month in Adam J. Hakari's cool thread. I know July is not over yet, but we should try this now. If it works then I'll make one each month, if not this will be the only one.

Top 10 July

1) Ghost World (10/10)
2) Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (9/10)
3) The Royal Tenenbaums (8/10)
4) Being John Malkovich (8/10)
5) One Hour Photo (8/10)
6) Big Fish (8/10)
7) Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (8/10)
8) Girl With a Pearl Earring (8/10)
9) The School of Rock (8/10)
10) Night of the Living Dead (8/10)

What's yours?

No offense, Sad Man, but I'm not sure the point of this thread exactly since Adam already makes one at the end of each month, and has been doing so for quite some time; I know in his we list all movies there as opposed to a top ten, but that does include our top ten.

But I’ll play along anyway. Excluding rewatches and shorts...

I'm actually inclined to agree with Colin here. As much fun as I have making lists, I don't exactly see any difference between these lists and the ones AJ does.

1 Manhattan (1979)*
2 Victory Through Air Power (1943)
3 Apocalypse Now (1979)
4 Rosemary's Baby (1968)
5 Frankenstein (1930)
6 A Fish Called Wanda (1988)
7 King of Comedy (1983)
8 Anchorman: the Legend of Ron Burgandy (2004)
9 The Untouchables (1987)

Runners up:
From Here to Eternity (1953), The Manchurian Candidate (2004), Footloose (1984), The Omen (1976), A Streetcar Named Desire (1951)

*I gave both Victory Through Air Power and Apocalypse Now a higher grade, but I thought Manhattan was the most well made and culturally enhancing movie I saw this month, therefore making it number one.

Thanks :). I see what ColinM and ANavissi500 mean though. I'm not mad at them or anything. I don't think I will post this again, I guess I'll include my Top 10 in Adam's thread.

Since you're posting all of the movies in that thread, that includes the top ten. This just strikes me as a duplicate.

It's nothing against Sad Man, of course.

Ah. Well, most of them do, or at least in ratings order. But whatever, I don't mind the thread too much, and it's certainly no offense to Sad Man. It just struck me as a duplicate at first is all.

But I don't want to pick any fights, and I enjoy lists, so by all means Sad Man, keep it up! :)

Like I said Colin, I'm not mad at you at all. I understand what you mean, I see your point. But I don't wanna get involved in a fight, so I guess I'll post the thread again. :)

Okay, I'm "only" including movies on first viewing and thought of just doing movies 'released' in July only but there aren't 10 good ones...lol

1. Magnolia (1999)--saw it when I was 16, but didn't like it so it counts. brilliant movie!
2. Amores Perros (2001)
3. "Broken Wings" (2004)
4. "No Man's Land" (2001)
5. "Topsy-Turvy" (1999)
6. "The Barbarian Invasions" (2003)
7. "Equilibrium" (2002)
8. "The Red Violin" (1999)
9. "The Reckoning" (2004)
10. "The Dreamers (2003)

lol. 4 are "foreign", "The Red Violin" is in 5 languages and "Monsieur Ibrhim" comes in at 11...that tells you 'my' tastes....

Yeah. I saw "Spider-Man 2" and wasn't that thrilled....it won't even make an Honorable Mention for the end of the year....

So best "new" movie of the month is "Broken Wings"--I am telling you guys go rent it!
