I want to see it so bad but my theater still hasn't gotten it. It looks like I'll have to wait for video.

Looks like Vanilla Sky is on it's way to a $23-25 million take. Not Another Teen Movie on to making around $15 million.
I think NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE could make possibly 16 Million this weekend. And VANILLA SKY will probably make 24 Million unless some people decide not to see it because of the shitty reviews. But 24 Million seems likely.
I'm happy NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE will at least make it's budget back this weekend, it cost 15 Million to make. It was a funny flick.

Yes, but it is not as huge as you had proclaimed it would be Mike.

NATM cost about 15 million to make, and probably another 15 million in marketing. This film will bomb - It is getting less viewers than another movie opening this weekend, and a movie that opened last weekend.
And while Vanilla Sky got almost 4 times as much money as HARRY POTTER, NATM has about twice as much.
(My prediction is that Harry Potter will out gross NATM next weekend.)

No, it's not making as much as I thought it would but it's also playing on less screens than I originally thought it would be playing on. Anyway, I'm going with some friends tonight to go see it again so I'll be contributing some more $$$ to it...

I was correct...hehe...NOt Another Teen Movie is playing EXACTLY like Dude, Where's My Car....am I psychic or what??!!?? http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif
I bet you guys that Vanilla Sky will actually have a DECREASE in sales tonight or just a small INCERASE and that Oceans 11 will be Number one!!!!!
It's gonna be a tough call this weekend.

I'm glad that NATM is coming in under everybody's(including mine)predictions, because it looks god awful, and it IS A TEEN MOVIE! at least scary movie wasn't an actual horror film. Vanilla Sky looks great, i'll probably see it next weekend. And I'm happy as hell that OCean's 11 is kicking box office ass, because it was great, and it is kind of nice to see that this flick is getting some of the money that OUt of Sight should have made.Man, I love that movie.
Vanilla Sky will crumble faster than the Taliban.

Well.. i haven't seen any of the films. but i wish the final studio figurs will put Ocean's 11 at #1. It looks incredible. and i HATE Tom Cruise no matter what he does\did\may do in the future. (sorry)
and Harry Potter seems to slow down before reaching the expected $300 million. or what?

NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE should hold up well through the holidays according to www.hollywood.com (http://www.hollywood.com) :
Columbia's R rated comedy spoof of teen movies Not Another Teen Movie opened in third place to a sexy ESTIMATED $13.1 million at 2,365 theaters ($5,539 per theater).
Directed by Joel Gallen and produced by Neal H. Moritz, it stars Jaime Pressly, Mia Kirshner and Randy Quaid.
"Certainly, we're pleased. It's a $15 million negative, which probably will make it one of the more profitable holiday movies," Sony Pictures Entertainment worldwide marketing & distribution president Jeff Blake said Sunday morning, adding with an eye on the film's amusing marketing campaign that, "Neither 'the popular jock' nor 'the nasty cheerleader' are profit participants. It will probably beat some of the big star holiday movies in that regard."
As for comparisons to past hits, Blake noted, "Dude, Where's My Car opened Dec. 15, 2000 and did $13.8 million and [wound up with] $46.5 million. Deuce Bigalow opened Dec. 10, 1999 to $12.2 million and did $65.5 million. I don't think you get the huge openings necessarily, but when you're a comedy alternative that holds throughout the holiday season you certainly hope to add up. We sort of split the difference between those two openings and, hopefully, we'll split the difference between those two gross totals."
In terms of who was on hand opening weekend, Blake pointed out, "It's pretty well equal male and female. Our sweet spot was certainly 17 to 25."
-I think it should hold up well with no school over Christmas vacation and it's pretty much the only comedy aimed at teens, other than How High...
