The Village Rakes In 50$ Million Opening Weekend

It's not a suprise it made this much, but what were you expecting, more or less? If so, how much more or less?

I was thinking maybe 60 or 70 million. This movie was really really hyped to hell.

I was expecting about that but I think it will suffer a big drop next with with avrage/poor reviews and Collateral.

I've been reading reviews that are good, bad, and mixed. Anyone you ask who saw this film has a different opinion.

The problem with this year has been that nothing is opening up against much else. Anyone else remember the weeks and weeks at the start of the year when there was a new #1 every single week?

The money-makers in Hollywood are trying to claim those #1s, which is nice and all, but they keep forgetting how quickly the moviegoing public will just go for whatever's new the next week instead of coming back for more.

I expect that's the only reason Village made as much as it did, and now it's going to start getting shoved down the list one week at a time.
