Plot description: Code 46 is a love story set in an eerily possible near-future where cities are heavily controlled and only accessible through checkpoints. People cannot travel unless they have “papelles,” a special travel insurance. Outside cities, the desert has taken over and shanty towns are jammed with non-citizens – people without papelles whose lives are severely restricted. William (Robbins) is a family man who works as an insurance investigator. When his company sends him to another city to solve a case of fake papelles, he meets a woman named Maria (Morton). Although he knows she’s been creating the forgeries, he falls completely in love with her. He hides her crime and they have a wild, passionate affair that can only last as long as his papelles: 24 hours. Back home, William is obsessed with the memory of Maria. He tries to see her but is refused the necessary papers to travel. Desperate, he uses one of the fake papelles he kept from his investigation. He eventually tracks her down, only to discover she has been accused of a Code 46 violation.

I think this sounds pretty solid. From the pictures above it looks to have some nice cinemtography and I like the plot. I'm hoping there will be just as much emphasis on sci-fi as there is romance since I'm not a big romance fan. Anyway, this looks like a pretty interesting movie.

The characters are so one-dimensional and robotic, the romance in this movie is nonexistent. A few somewhat interesting sci-fi elements aren't enough to make this movie less of a chore to watch.

This doesn't really appeal to me. I do like Robbins and Morton a lot, but this just doesn't look like something I'd enjoy very much.

I love you, Tim Robbins, but I cannot bare to stand another love story. You can thank The Notebook for that. So I think I'll just wait for the DVD to come out so that way I have the option of vomiting in my own bathroom, thank you very much.

The trailer for this movie was just beautiful and I really cannot wait to see this movie. I'm getting the feeling that it may fall a bit flat in the character department, but Morton and Robbins are both very capable actors, and the worst that happens is they give brilliant performances while the script is still weak but the visuals are rock-solid...the trailer really was just beautiful...

I'm looking forward to this one. Michael Winterbottom directed it and he's not made a bad movie yet.
