Anybody else notice the Microphones above the actors that was captured in a WHOLE lot of scenes in the village?? I don't understand how they didn't edit it out or notice it?? It just ruined the whole movie for me, I couldn't take it serious when you can see a mic moving around Signourey Weavers head...this really pissed me off anyone else notice this??? Also I remember in the Past horror fourms someone mentioned that you could see the shadow of the director moving in the horrible film Axe Em or something but I mean, that's a cheap movie so it isn't as bad but a film liek this...i'd expect a better treatment.

Dude...I was watching the whole movie and I did not see that. I was watching very closely...as were my friends and they didn't see any either. I'm not saying they aren't there I'm just saying that I didn't notice them, and if they were there they weren't bad enough to ruin the movie.

RE:
It was the fault of the projectionist. This happens sometimes. The projectionist didn't frame/crop the picture correctly. If something like this happens, you should report it to the theatre, so that they won't make the same mistake again.

Hmmm....my whole theater was laughing at the film but i'm sure they cut it up wrong but also bank (i don't remember his whole user name) mentioned this in the official Village thread in the Current Movie talk.

holdup...and if I had known that it was completely the projectionist's fault, I would have said something.
So, are copies of movies out there with obvious boom mics in them, but the projectionists hide them? I thought it was a strict duty to keep them out of frame while filming. Hmm...

All I know is that this stuff happens every now and then, regardless of the movie. I don't know why the films are not cropped in advance for theatrical distribution, but this is how it goes. I guess some flicks are cropped in advance to hide the mics, but not all.

Yeah I guess it was just the theater just jesus was mine noticable...I mean they basically made you feel like you were on the set while they were filming so you couldn't really take the film serious at all. Damn Narberth theater this ruined the whole movie (movie kinda sucked anyway I was hoping it was horror).
I didn't notice any mics in the movie, and I was looking since I had heard there were alot of them.

Hmmmm, never noticed, and I doubt that would be something I could actually miss, if it indeed were onscreen.

Okay Listen Up.
Yes the Director attempts to keep the boom mikes and crew members out of shots.
BUT
The size of the film, or in other words what the camera sees when filming is much larger than what is shown at the movies.
Have you ever noticed a video monitor on the set of a movie, it has those white lines on the monitor, in the shape of a movie screen! but you can still see a shitload of stuff outside this line.
Well when the film is printed, stuff outside that line gets printed onto the film as well, such as boom mikes.
It is the responsibility of the projectionist at the theater to FRAME the movie up properly.
By this I mean make sure the movie is centered on the screen. Thus preventing any errant booms or other crap from showing on the screen, they get projected onto the curtains which make them invisible.
So if the projectionist screws this up you see all sorts of crap you are not supposed to.
Also there is a thing called a MASK that is on the actual movie screen.
The mask changes shapes depending on the format of the movie.
The Village is formated FLAT. Meaning it will be taller and narrower.
And believe me if the mask was not properly formated for your theater you would notice as you would not be able to see half of the movie.
I have shown this flick 40 or 50 times, watched it thru twice and seen parts of it multiple times and have yet to see a boom mike.
So bitch at your theater, they are at fault. Maybe you can get your money back.

Common Sense Man pretty much nailed it. Here is another discussion about the subject with some extra information:
