Those things that you're not sure you just saw, but they leave a mark on your subconscious afterwards.
Mine:
****some MAJOR SPOILERS for a few movies below****

1) The Exorcist - The demon face. If the movie was as good as this classic moment, THEN we'd be getting somewhere.
2) Fight Club - Inserts of Tyler Durden.
3) The Usual Suspects - Gabriel Byrne as Keyser switching to Spacey in the scene transition - "I know he was good..."
4) Memento - Sammy Jankis is now Leonard Shelby sitting in the mental hospital chair when an orderly walks by the screen.

question, in the Fight Club commentary with David Fincher, he says that there's a subliminal message in the logo of 20th Century Fox but I can never find it. any ideas?

From the original 1969 version of The Manchurian Candidate, all the various inserts/images containing Abraham Lincoln whenever Sen. John Iselin was present (even as far as dressing him up as Lincoln) were excellent uses of foreshadowing/subliminal imagery, alluding to the climax.

Definitely the one in The Exorcist.
One of the scariest movie moments ever.
Also the one from Memento that syxxpac mentioned.

I like the image at the end of Pscyho, with the skull superimposed over Norman's face as the camera pulls back. It takes a couple of watches to catch that.

Watch closely before the end credits start to roll.
Which reminds me of a good one prior to the end credits in Scream, where Ghostface shows up for a split second.
