While not being your general 'feel-good' Christmas movie, it never feels like Christmas until I've watched Die Hard. Best action movie ever IMHO.

1. "A Christmas Story"
2. "It's a Wonderful Life" (Saw it for the first time this year; it won't be the last.)
3. "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation"
We have "The Santa Clause," but never watch it. "The Grinch" will also find a place on that list.
Also like:
"Dr. Suess' How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (the Chuck Jones special)
"A Charlie Brown Christmas"
"Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Amends" (AKA A Buffy Christmas)

While its not a Christmas movie per se, but DOES take place during the holiday, one of my favorites is "The Ref". Who hasn't experienced an exasperating holiday get-together with family and/or friends? Glynis Johns is perfect as the mother-in-law from hell.

Good lord, how did I forget "The Ref?" That's one of my favorite films of all-time, and certainly my favorite Christmas movie of all-time. Also, for my Christmas special list, add the first ever "Simpsons" episode that aired, "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire." A classic to be sure.

Whatever..... The Grinch was overrated in every way possible.
My List:
1) A Christmas Story ***** (is my favorite christmas film and an all time favorite.)
2) It's a Wonderful Life *****
3) A Christmas Carol (1951) *****
4) The Santa Clause ****
5) Toys (A movie that doesn't succeed in it's purpose, but I'd be lying if I didn't say that this film has some of the most original ideas.)

A TREE GROWS IN BROOKLYN (1945) Elia Kazan
AVALON (1990) Barry Levinson
THE LONG WALK HOME (1990) Richard Pearce
DIE HARD (1988) John McTiernan

I could have sworn that I saw a teaser for The Santa Clause 2 once, but have heard nothing more about it. Did I see such a teaser? Or am I losing my mind? http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif

One of my personal favorites has always been a film that not many people have heard of, or seen, called 29TH STREET (http://us.imdb.com/Details?0101252). It stars Danny Aiello and Anthony LaPaglia (but don't let that stop you!), and it's based on a true story. It always manages to get the waterworks going on my end, and it's the ultimate definition of a "feel-good" movie.
If you get the chance, rent it...
Oh yeah, and DIE HARD, of course... http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif
The Grinch
The Grinch
