I like Madonna. I think she's a great artist and has always been great over these 20 years. Some people may say she just got famous for pushing people's buttons and creating controversy but that's not true. She just put all of herself out there because she's a sexual woman who speaks her mind. I admire her because she had the balls to be herself when some people were afraid to be. What do you guys think?
I'm a fan. Even if American Life wasn't her best record (which is not to say it's without great moments, check out Nothing Fails) she has made some of the best pop records i've heard. My favourite albums of hers are Like A Prayer (the title track being my favourite song of hers), True Blue and Ray Of Light, all great Summer albums.
I'm disappointed I didn't get to see her this tour but I'll certainly add the dvd to my other live videos and dvds of hers.
On a related note; has anyone see A Certain Sacrifice, the film she made before becoming famous? A friend tracked down a tape of it and lent it to me. It may be the worst film ever made. Really.

She did make her career off of pushing people's buttons. If she hadn't, she would have followed in the shoes of all other 80's pop stars and withered off. But she kept on pushing the envelope.
However these days she not pushing buttons snymore, she's a shadow of her former self. The whole Brittney kiss just prolonged the inevatable and that is she's is fading away. Her last album was a bomb, her last every movie since A League of Thier Own was terrible and made everybody realize she can't act. She steals things from other cultures and tries to claim them for her own and these days appears desparate to stay in the news. I mean changing her name to Ester, come on.
Madonna is no longer new inovative, she is old a tiresome. I am sick of hearing about her, the last since as long as I can remember is more then enough.

I, personally, loathe madonna, rather Esther. I think she could be defined as a great performer, but Ive always thought her music sucked ass. Her song (the theme to Die another day) was possibly the worst song that I have ever heaqrd in my entire life.
I despise this hypocritical, wishy-washy, fickle brained bitch even more than I hate Britney Spears. She has zero talent, a flat singing voice, piss poor acting skills, no sex appeal, no manners and no dedication to anything, save for her newfound trendy religion. She's clinging to what little fame she had. Her new name is a joke. Her sudden fake British accent is laughable. Her politics are shit. Her songs are the worst I've heard. And I haven't even dug into her parenting or her retarded sex book. If I never hear anything else from her, I'd never miss her.

Long before A League of Their Own came along she kicked major ass in Desperately Seeking Susan.....
I still like the old bag no matter what.....
I do agree that her roles has been major suckie....
She has done her share of what the hell was she thinkin roles but maybe somewhat pretty good roles...

I love Madonna. Is she a little hypocritical? Yeah. Is she a marketing whore? Sure.
But you know what? She's sexy, she's funny, she's provocative, she's not afraid, and she actually has some good songs. And that's why I, for one, dig her. :)

I loved several of her earlier albums
1983: Madonna
1984: Like A Virgin
1986: True Blue
1989: Like A Prayer
I grew up with this stuff... I am not particularly interested with anything after 1989.

Personally, I think she’s a dirty tramp who uses sex to sell herself because she doesn’t have enough flair make it in the industry with just singing. Her music might sound good to the ear (Hell, like 90% of 80’s music was that way), but it is very animated and it’s hard to listen too without asking why someone would want to make this trash.
