Title: Daredevil
Starring: Ben Affleck
Released: 30th November 2004
SRP: $19.98
Further Details
Fox Home Entertainment has officially announced the director's cut of Daredevil which stars Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner and Colin Farrell. This brand new single-disc release will be available to own from the 30th November this year, and should set you back around $19.98 in total. The film will be presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen along with English DTS 5.1, Dolby Digital 5.1, Spanish Dolby Surround and French Dolby Surround tracks. The only extra material will be a new audio commentary by director Mark Steven Johnson and Avi Arad and a Making of the Director's Cut featurette. As for the director's cut itself, around twenty-minutes of additional footage has been added, bringing the total runtime to 124 minutes. I'm afraid the artwork has yet to be released, but we'll bring you that shortly. Stay tuned.

It only being one disc is crap. I've been waiting on it. I might have to rent it to see if it's worth buying over the original version.

Unless one of the additional scenes is a naked Jennifer Garner, then I don't care to purchase this Director's Cut DVD. I'm happy with the original DVD, at least it has two freakin' discs! ;)

I love Daredevil, but i'm pretty indifferent on this release. Why would I want a DVD thats not as good as teh original? I might just rent for the additional scenes.

Yep. The only way this Director's Cut would be an improvement is if they removed about 2 hours of footage from the original.

It would make an interesting short. Experimental, at least.

I agree, the Hulk was by far the worst Marvel film latley.
I might buy this. Only if I can get rid of my original copy. I made the dumb mistake of buying it fullscreen the first time. :(

I think the reason the extras are so few and it's only a single disc is because you're supposed to keep the original 2-disc version and get this as an addition, so you can buy it as a sort of third disc to the set without it feeling like you're double dipping. Maybe they'll provide a case to fit all three discs?

I would give Daredevil the rating of 3 out of 10, and The Hulk 4 out of 10. The only thing that made Hulk better than Daredevil was its clever photography and editing. Simply brilliant. Unfortunately the rest wasn't that good at all. I hope Ang Lee gets his stuff together with Brokeback Mountain next year.

I hope they don't do what they did with S-M1, that is release a special edition 2 disc set and then release another deluxe edition 3 disc later. I hope they don't release a set with the original 2 discs on the Daredevil special edition as well as the director's cut disc, 'cos then I'll be pissed that I bought it instead of waiting.

I'll pick it up. I only watched it once in theaters (and didn't like it too much). I would like to see if the uncut version helps improve the story at all.

Um, no. But a little extra Ben and Colin wouldn't hurt, which is why I'm gonna rent it. And that is all.

1 and a half hour of a blank screen would be better than this.
if the Director cut the whole movie, that would be better

Daredevil director's cut? What a fucking RIP....what else could they add to this? I loved Daredevil, and I got the 2 disc "special edition" the day it came out...director's cut my ass..I am sick to fucking death of getting "special editions" only to have them outweighed by(see:money-grubbing assholes) director's cuts, it is a complete insult to movie fans, and to top it off, makes DVD buyers look like retards..."hmmm...Daredevil's been out for almost 2 years...better run another disc on that motherfucker, some poor sucker will pay".....well, not this one they certainly don't (or at least didn't) do this to VHS.
