Here's some big news... Warner has just announced the DVD release of Wolfgang Peterson's Troy for 1/4/05 (SRP $29.95). The 2-disc set will include 3 featurettes (In the Thick of Battle, From Ruins to Reality and Troy: An Effects Odyssey), a CG Gallery of the Gods photo gallery/tour of Mount Olympus, the theatrical trailer and Easter eggs. Video will be anamorphic widescreen (aspect ratio 2.40:1), with audio on English and French Dolby Digital 5.1. We'll post artwork when it becomes available.

Dang. That's a pretty long time considering all the other May films are going to be on DVD this fall. . .

I don't know if i'll add this to the collection, but probably rent it. January is a long time, considering over here in Aus we get it in October.

January 2005? The WB is so full of shit. By the time the DVD hits the shelves, people will making remarks such as "Troy? What the hell was Troy? Was that even released in theaters?"
Honestly, this news is a little surprising, considering that most films are released on DVD 4-5 months after they are released in theaters. This makes no sense.

Yeah that's weird. I remember Shallow Hal taking 8 months, too! I can understand certain oscar types taking that long, but not these movies. The Dawn of the Dead Remake is taking forever, too.

That is quite a long wait, but I'll definately be adding it to my collection. It's my second favorite of the year thus far. I'm surprised they're not going to try to capitalize on the holiday season though.

Wow, that's a long time.
If they're smart about it, they'll re-think the idea and make it an early December release.

2 bad things about this, 1, its way too long away, and 2, its being released RIGHT AFTER CHRISTMAS, which means no parent will buy this movie when they have to recover from buying tons of presents...BAD WB, BAD!
