Psychocandy's Room - A Failed Experiment

Ok. Here's what I have planned. I'm going to create a room in Soulseek. Anyone who is interested in using this room to share music feel free to express said interest in the form of a reply to this thread. In order to test whether this is feasible I need some schmoes to boot up Soulseek, refresh the room list, and find Psychocandy's Room on the list. Enter the room and we'll take it from there. I'll be there for most of this evening.

I got rid of SoulSeek...

I don't donwload (but I am all for downloading music) music, all 1,000+ (still adding) songs on my playlist are ripped off of CD's that I own.

But I may reinstall SoulSeek and come share with the lovely people on the JoBlo boards.

Please do. It's not limited to just music. Any file can be shared via Soulseek. This could be a really useful tool if enough people on the board get into it.

I never heard of Soulseek, wouldn't mind trying it out. I use Suprnova myself, since installing Bit Tornado I have like 40 gigs worth of music on my comp now, so maybe I should stay away from this one:D .

Soulseek is a piece of file sharing software that also incorporates something similar to IRC. It can be downloaded HERE (http://www.slsknet.org/).

That's always one of the biggest concerns with any P2P. Most of them have, but if it does have spyware then into the regestry I go. I think I'll check it out.

I'm the only one in there at the moment. I'm trying to get some sort of method of trading music in order to assist the MP3 Of The Day and Tag Game threads. In the bottom right hand corner there are a list of rooms. You need to right click and click refresh. Then click on the rooms button above the list and it will put them into alphabetical order. Then scroll down until you reach Psychocandy's Room.

Just right click on the Room List down the bottom right corner and click refresh. Then click on the room button above the list. That will put the rooms in alphabetical order. Then scroll down until you get to Psychocandy's Room. Double click and you're in. Simple. :D
