Disney has announced the Platinum Edition of 1942 classic Bambi, which will arrive in shops next year. The two-disc package will be available to own from the 1st March, priced at around $29.99. The disc will carry a digitally restored transfer, along with a brand new 5.1 Disney Enhanced Home Theater Mix. A standard 5.1 track will also be included along with the Original Mono Theatrical Mix. Extras will include a Walt's Annotated Bambi feature which molds a vocal reading of the studio founder's own notes from the film's development, with footage and production drawings, additional scenes with music and dialogue added to the storyboards and an all-new Forrest Adventure game with multiple levels of challenge that evolve from 2-D to 3-D animation. Completing the package will be a sneak peek at the new direct to video release of Bambi II: Great Prince of the Forest, a Disneypedia with which you can learn about the real-life animals of Bambi, a Disney Time Capsule that takes you back to the period of 1942, a Making of Bambi: Original Circle of Life featurette, an all-new story based on the Golden BookŪ classic Thumper and more

One of my favorite movies as a kid, I might pick it up because I enjoy it every time I watch it.

I haven't seen Bambi since I was like 4. Hard to remember if I enjoyed it or not, but I'll definitely try to get ahold of the film sometime in the next month or so.

Damn! I am way off track with my disney dvds, i still need to get alice in wonderland before it goes off the shelves, and Aladdin in Oct. so hopefully I have my shit together so I can pick this up
