In the Wes Craven's New Nightmare ending credits it says

"and Freddy Krueger as Himself"

did anyone else notice it?

No - but I don't like it when they try to be funny at the end credits.

Having said that, when I was a kid, I'd always watch right to the end of the credits just in case there was a bit of extra footage. :D

It made me smile when I noticed it, good humour there.

I thought it was dumb. They were trying to be clever and it didn't work on me.

It's not how I'd do it if I were a filmmaker, but if others want to put these "jokey" credits in their movies, all the power to them. That being said, it was cute when Jabba the Hutt was credited as "himself" in The Phantom Menace.

I think it's clever. It's not just a throw-away joke, but is consistent with the premise of the movie, that we're watching the NOES actors themselves as they realize that the true Freddy is breaking through into "reality." The actor who plays Freddy Krueger in the movies is billed as himself: the actor who plays Freddy Krueger in the movies. Since this is "reality," how can he "be" Freddy Krueger as well?

I think it's clever. Not funny in the slightliest but clever.

Ya i noticed it but did anybody but me notice that in the first one you can se Freddy crawling around before he scares the shit out of Tina in her first nightmare.

The first time I saw that credit, it made me giggle like a little girl. Just adds to the "realism" of the film.

lol:D yeah it's so realistic to have a matress break your fall after getting thrown from a balcony...can we say "looney tunes'ish"...like something that happens with the bugs bunny or road runner cartoons.:p

I noticed, but I really didn't care. If they put more effort in the movie instead of the credits, it would have been much more watchable.

Yeah I noticed. I thought it was kinda neat that they tried to take it that far. Also in the first NIGHTMARE the grips are credited as the Grips From Hell and they are all named Bob. Weird stuff. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.
