So I just bought the Frankenstein and Dracula Monster Legacy Collection DVD's (still looking for Wolf Man), and I'd like to get started on some Hammer films that had their take on the Universal Monsters. Where should I start with each monster?

The best place to start would be right at the beginning .
The Hammer Horror collection which comprises of Horror Of Dracula , The Curse Of Frankenstein & The Mummy showcases the very best of Hammer horror . They're also the first in Hammers long series of Gothic horrors . Seek them out and enjoy .

i got the Hammer horror classics boxset. You can get at Circut City or Best Buy. I got mine pretty cheap of ebay. All the films are good or very good.
The set is:
Horror of Dracula
Dracula has risen from the grave
The Mummy
Frankenstein must be destroyed
The Curse of Frankenstein
Taste the blood of Dracula
You can also get Dracula Prince of Darkness(which is pretty good)and Satanic Rites of Dracula(which is really bad) on a double disc.
Also recomend The Vampire Lovers and Scars of Dracula.
Dont recomend Dracula 1972.

Good luck trying to find it, but Vampire Circus is fantastic. As far as I know, there is no Region 1 release, but you can find VHS copies on ebay. And with the exception of Satanic Rites of Dracula, anything with Lee or Cushing is worth a look. Another of my faves, which is one of the last films from Hammer, is To The Devil a Daughter, featuring a young, very naked Nastashia (I know that is spelled wrong, but I'm too lazy to get up and check the dvd box) Kinski.

This is probably what I'll end up doing. I'm a newbie to Hammer too. I've seen The Horror of Dracula but wasn't that impressed. It wasn't a bad movie, but I guess the original Dracula was still pretty fresh in my mind.

I also highly recommend the midnite movie double feature dvd of Countess Dracula and the Vampire Lovers. Countess Dracula is o.k.. Vampire Lovers is really good though. The best part is that it sells for like $10.
