As I stated in a reply to a message of what our "horror rooms" look like, my room which was loaded with horror is now my daughters room and some stuff is in my little bedroom or in boxes waiting in limbo. My Idea was to convert my living room to all horror since i have plenty to work with. My family (except for my wife) says it wont look good, and my friends say do what I want cause its my house! I dont want it to look too goofy but I would love to come home after work in my own world again! Anybody have thoughts or ideas about this? I'd love to hear em!

I think you should do what you want to do regardless of what anyone else thinks. That is other than your wife and family. If having a living room filled with horror stuff is going to cause any dischord in the family home then i'd suggest it's not worth the hassle. That said...I do think that a living room can have horror elements that are very classy. You could get a hold of some old classic horror movie posters, stick 'em in a good frame, and I can't honestly imagine anyone not being impressed with the end result (depending on what the poster is though...I don't thin SS Experiment Camp or Ilsa She Wolf Of The SS would sit too well with many people). A nice glass cabinet with some statuettes would be another classy addition. And a bookcase filled with books, regardless of what genre they belong to, always looks good. You can even devote a couple of shelves of the bookcase to your collection of horror DVDs. Anyway...that's my tuppenceworth. Hope it helps.

Thanks, SpychoCandy! They are very good ideas! I also have a lot more signatures from horror celebs (8x10's) that could be framed and hung. Right now they are in a binder along with photos of celebs and myself. I have a lot of space in my living room and I know I'll prob. get carried away....but.

Psychocandy's approach is the best one, I guess.
Let the "geeky" things (no offence in that) aside, and put the rare stuff and the classic posters. More like a "horror museum" presentation that some horror fan room, in fact.

Is the little bedroom vacant or what? I have a bedroom studio in my house which is my own domicile, if anyone on this board saw it (Not blowing smoke here!) They would probably go fucking ape shit!!! The room is filled with all of manor of horror memorabilia, which surrounds my drafting table and art set up. If your small room isnt occupied, Id suggest taking a long hard look around it, to see what would be the best way to arrange it to make it your own. I dont know what your relationship is with your family, but they should respect your hobbies and passions. Its not really up to anyone but you, if you have the financial means, maybe you might want to have an addition to your house. A room that is tailor made to your specific needs. I hope that I have been of some help to you, good luck and keep us informed with your solution to this dilema... :)

Thanks Dead One. No, that room isnt free anymore cause it's my daughter's now. Unfortunately, the living room is just about as far as I can go. My daughter is 15, so it might be quite a few years before shes ready to move out, but with my luck one of the boys will want that room then! Well, my wife agreed it would be cool to have the horror motif in the living room and she says she doesnt give a shit if nobody likes it. Nice! Another question: see below.

Now I know all you horror fans have tons of horror magazines! As I also do. And they keep coming! Where do all you great people put all your mags? I started sleeving them and putting them in binders but I realized theres just too many. I have them all over; plastic drawers, milk crates, binders. I do try to keep them in good condition tho. and I'm NOT getting rid of them!! What do you guys do with all yours?

My magazines are in the bottom of the garage, with all the comics, waiting for a home of my own. To keep them in good condition, we used plain boxes with lots of tape, they're fine. The house gets a LOT of humidity, but even my dad's books and comics which have been there for 20 years are still in good condition. Putting them in plastic wouldn't hurt, thought :)
