Ash's Chainsaw

Im planning to dress myself like Ash for the next comic book convention in my town. I have the clothes and the "boomstick", but I don't have the chainsaw. I've been trying to find an old brocken one, but I haven't found one at good price.
I don't know how to make a fake one, so anyone can give me some advice?

I know, I was planing to replace the blade with a fake one and of course, remove the motor.

If I had ever decided to dress up as Leatherface I always assumed I'd buy either a toy chainsaw and dress it up nicely or buy a prop chainsaw at a Halloween supply store. Third choice would of course be to make one. I've actually done that before for a short movie I made as a teenager. It had a cardboard blade fitted into a modified box with handles. I used the bottom of a 2 liter soda bottle as the vent thingie that protrudes out of the side of the saw and added a broken lawnmower pullstring to the whole thing. Some paint and creative touches made a nice little prop.

If you have a real chainsaw you wouldn't have to worry about getting arrested.
