Didn't see this information up any where here so I though I'd do it:

NOW PLAYING -COMING SOON!
July 30, 2004:
The Action Figures from the NOW PLAYING line originally came to life from the movie screen as either heroes, villains, creatures, monsters or madmen. NOW PLAYING Series # 1 will consist of action figures based on characters from the movies DARKMAN, AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON (both licensed from Universal Studios,) and THE TOXIC AVENGER (licensed from Troma Entertainment.) The figures will be available through retailers beginning in November 2004, with each one standing approximately 7 inches tall, and each coming with a character specific base. The manufacturers suggested retail price for each figure will be $ 12.99.

NOW PLAYING Series # 2 will include characters from JEEPERS CREEPERS 2, KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE (both licensed from MGM,) and THE MUMMY RETURNS (licensed from Universal Studios.) Additional NOW PLAYING figures are due in 2005.

NOW PLAYING Series # 1-CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS:
*DR. PEYTON WESTLAKE/”DARKMAN”
Dr. Peyton Westlake was a brilliant scientist working on a temporary synthetic skin to help burn victims. A confrontation with a greedy businessman and his gangsters leaves Westlake’s lab destroyed, his face horribly scarred, body burned and unable to feel pain. Using the synthetic skin to appear as almost anyone, Peyton exacts his revenge upon those who took his life from him. Because he is no longer Peyton Westlake…He has become Darkman.

*TOXIE/”THE TOXIC AVENGER”
Pity Melvin Junko! He’s the ultimate nerd-a 98 lb weakling abused by everyone he meets. But when punks chase Melvin into radioactive toxic waste, he is now longer just himself—he becomes the Toxic Avenger! Now Toxie’s fighting crime, reaping revenge on those who persecuted him and becoming a true hero… from New Jersey!

*NIGHTMARE DEMONS/”AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON”
Poor David Kessler. Not only is he dealing with his best friend’s savage murder on the moors of England and the fact that he might be a werewolf—he is also having strange and terrifying dreams. The worst involves the attack of his peaceful family by horrific, militaristic demons! The terrifying creatures ransack his home, kill his family members, set fire to his home, and then finally slit his throat! But for David, the nightmares simply do not end!

*NOW PLAYING Series 2 Descriptions:

-The Creeper ( Jeepers Creepers 2)
A bus of high school students has been disabled and people are being picked off one by one… by something that is not human. A creature that appears only every 23 years and then only for 23 days... when it gets to feed. Now with a taste for blood, the Creeper will not be denied what it wants the most-to feed on its final day!

I've seen photos of Darkman and Toxie, and they looked great. I wouldn't know where to dig for them, though.

Those do look great, but since your name's Andrew@SOTA and the company making the figures is called SOTA, I can only guess that you're a company employee trying to advertise them to us.

In which case, I think this is a mild form of spam.

Nice figures though. I'll be buying Darkman and Toxie.

You would think since he works for SOTA that he could hook some of us up with free samples. I would not mind a Darkman or Toxie myself. Pm and I will give you the address to send my free samples to.

Nice figures though. I'll be buying Darkman and Toxie. Well, I can see what you mean about spam.

I looked around the site and didn't see any mention of them and thought people here might be interested.

My intent is to let people know about these and answer any questions people have. I'm not out to point you to any sites to buy or even to the site that's part of the name.

If people think this is a problem, then I will abide by their decision.

And I think the Darkman's the nicest one, though the up-coming Imhotep is pretty sweet.

Well I guess I get no free samples!
Well at least I have my free samples of my McFarlane movie monsters. Then again I used to work for a hobby shop and we always got free stuff to try out from our vendors. I love free stuff!

Just think, because I got free McFarlane toys, I was more than happy to push them onto customers @ $19.99 each, selling case after case.

Send me free stuff and I will tell all my friends to buy them and make you money. Or maybe I will just take my free things and run!

Hey no problem my friend. I personally don't think it's spam, I just thought I'd warn you in case some people jumped to that conclusion.

Needless to say, I shall be purchasing your figures. :)

No problem on my end either.

I'm honestly just trying to make sure I'm playing by the rules here.

And to Mentiroso... we'll negotiate later. : )

Thanks.

Being a huge ALIEN/S fan myself, it's cool to have this stuff hanging around all the time. Though I doubt I'd have a place to put all this stuff at home!

Just wanted to give you an update on the first series of Now Playing.

The tentative case breakdown is:

4 Toxies
4 Darkmans
1 Demon- Bald head/ helmet head w/gun
1 Demon- Bald head/ helmet head w/knife
1 Demon- Bald head/ Wolf head w/gun
1 Demon- Bald head/ Wolf head w/knife
(NOTE-This lineup CAN change is retailer request a different ratio)

But I know what you're saying-"Hey Andrew, I've seen An American Werewolf in London 21 times and I know for a face that there are FOUR Nightmare Demons! So where's the fourth one? Your tryin' to gyp me?"

Heh. I'll let the boss explain:
"The Mohawk demon is going to be a retailer exclusive. havent decided which retailer yet."

In addition to the Nightmare Demons, A special Darman is coming:
"The third darkman head is a Tower records exclusive in the USA. Limited to 2500 pcs I think. They'll sell it on their website as well as in the stores. We're looking for a couple foreign toy retailers to take some also so youo guys overseas dont have to pay outrageous shipping fees."

NOW PLAYING Series 1 is due in late November

Nice work there. I'm weary about getting into collecting, though. I already spend too much money on horror related 'stuff'. Still, the occassional item may be nice ;)

I hate to seem like a nitpicker, but isn't Toxie supposed to have a left eye that sort of drooping from his head? I mean, he changes in every film, but that eye thing seems pretty consistant.

I'll see if I can get you a better answer this week.
