SVELTE Brit actress Samantha Morton has blasted a Hollywood studio for blocking her part in a film claiming she is too FAT.

Samantha, 27, who is a tiny size 8-10, was cast in the lead role of the epic The Brothers Grimm, produced by Miramax.

But she said: “Director Terry Gilliam wanted me, and the actors wanted me, but there was a complication with the studio over money and over my weight.

“I think I’m a healthy size, I’m an 8-10. I’m not going to go down the road of having my teeth done, my boobs done.”

A spokeswoman for Terry Gilliam said: “Terry wanted her.”

Samantha’s size has not posed a problem for her in the past.

After starting in the TV series Band of Gold she starred in a string of films, including Minority Report.

A Miramax spokeswoman denied Samantha’s claim. She said: “It is not true. Clearly, they are looking for the best person for the role."

Instead of running in here flapping my arms (I'll try that next though), I'll try to get your attention with big, bold letters--

Studios do some silly things. Like call liv tyler fat. They wanted her to lose weight, which is dumb and all but it's understandable, right? At least from a bizarre-studio-lackey standpoint. But telling that girl to lose weight . . . well, I can't believe it happened. Plus this is from The Sun (a tabloid, right?) isn't it? Most likely she just wanted too much money or the role was supposed to be like . . . boney and whatnot, and they wanted her to lose weight for the role specifically.

Because come on. Really. If the role didn't require some paper-thin woman (more paper-thin than she already is, actually) or gave too litte money, I just don't believe for a second that they said she was just "too fat", like a vague statement.
