Films That Make You Choke Up

are there any flicks that make you choke up or bring tears to your eyes?

i get a little choked up when i watched Man On The Moon. only when Andy goes to those "doctor" people. the con man got conned. he saw the animal intestines and it brought tears to his eyes. he had been crushed. it got me. also, the funeral scene. that was one of the best scenes in cinema history. i love it, but it gets me choked up.

The only movie I've ever really gotten emotional during was The Green Mile, at the very end. I won't go into details so I don't spoil it for those of you who haven't seen it (but you definitely should).

Definately Braveheart and The Shawshank Redemption - Two wholly out-standing films, with great emotional content.

Not a movie, but it makes me cry like a baby: The episode of Angel called "I Will Remember You" It is so depressing it made me want to slash both wrists after watching it!

I'm going to consider this a different category than "MOVIES THAT MAKE YOU CRY" because getting choked up and actually crying are two diff things. Movies that just give a lump in the throat for me are:

1. The opera scenes in SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION and MOONSTRUCK. Something about seeing other people react to music is very moving to me.

2. The "baby mine" song in DUMBO when his mother rocks him thru the bars of ther cage. So sad. I'm veclempt!

3. In CHARIOTS OF FIRE and BREAKING AWAY when the respective races have been won.

4. The "o captain my captain" scene at the end of DEAD POETS SOCIETY always chokes me up.

5. The sweet part of THE ACCIDENTAL TOURIST when Macon Leary takes the hand of Geena Davis' son, signifying that he's finally opening up.

6. When Alex, the kid, throws his helmet off at the end of THE BLACK STALLION.


and the list goes on and on....

Rudy is one of the only movies that I cry everytime I watch it.
