View Full Version : What if Quentin Tarentino HAD made "Halloween 6"?

Some of you may already know, at one point before he got 'big' with "Resovoir Dogs", Quentin Tarentino aproached Miramax/Dimension with an idea for "Halloween 6" (or maybe it was 5, I can`t quite remember).

So I`m going to ask two questions, and I want you to tell me the truth [;) ]:

1. Has anyone actually seen/read Tarentino`s treatment for the "Halloween" movie?

2. What do you think it would`ve been like? To be honest, I can`t even imagine what he would`ve done with "Halloween".

In a sense I think we've already seen Tarintino's version of H6 - the cheaper version seen in theaters and available at any video store. He and Joe Chapelle are both very stylish when it comes to drecting, so I think Tarintino's cut would have been stylish, much like Chapelle's theatrical cut. However, I do think that Tarintino's version might have been better made and more coherent.

Oh and no, I haven't read the script for it. I did read through Arrow's review of H6 about Tarintino approaching H6, but that's about it.

He'd have Lorie and Loomis talking about what they call a 1/4 Pounder in England, and Loomis torturing Myer's with a straight razor while "Stuck In The Middle" plays in the background.

I liked Halloween 6 minus the horrible acting by that actor that played Danny and the atrocious ending.

unless he states in an interview (which would be absolutely awesome), nobody will know what it'd be like obviously...and also obviously, since i'm such a big fan of H6, I'm fine with the way it is now, and would rather it be the way it is.

Grr...I love how just because he has made bigger movies, people think he'd automatically make an amazing halloween...thats just the impression and vibe I got.

Well I`m not sure he`d make an amazing "Halloween" film.......to be honest, I`m not even sure he`d be right for a "Halloween" movie.......but I AM sure that it would`ve at least been interesting.

And to follow that up...

Cheech: "What were they, psychos or something?"
Seth: "No, they weren't psychos. They were vampires. Psychos do not explode when sunlight hits them, I don't give a fuck how crazy they are. Except for that dude over there. He was a psycho."

We open on a small cafe just outside of haddonfield:

John Carpenter and Moustapha Akkad are seated in a booth, opposite each other. John is training a 45. automatic with 15 in the clip, Moustahpa looks shaken with an uneasy gaze.

John- Did you read the interview I did in Fango' Moustapah?

Moustapha- Not recently...

John- Well, theres this passage I have memorized...kind of fits this ocassion...the path of Michael Myers has been fucked up for along time because of the selfishness and greediness of you and Dimension films...Blessed are the fans with the charity and good will who sheperds the uninformed through the valley of confusion that the series has become.....for they are turly intelligent fans of the genre, and the fans of the original Halloween....and I will strike down upon thee with great vengence and furious anger those who attempt to FUCK UP and DESTROY MY WORK!!

THEN YOU WILL KNOW I AM JOHN CARPENTER WHEN I LAY MY VENGENCE UPON YOU!!!

John Carpenter unloads several rounds into Moustapha's chest.

BLAM!BLAM!BLAM!BLAM!BLAM!BLAM!;) :p

Well let's see. It would've had Harvey Keitel as some fucked up know it all guru. Probably would've had Steve Buchemi (spell?) play Michael Myers, and I imagine it would have generally sucked ass. Don't get me wrong I love Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown and Resevoir Dogs but From Dusk till Dawn wasn't his finest hour.

Well knowing Tarantino's work I would have to say his Halloween outing would have been pretty violent. Probably the most violent in the series by far. At least I remember reading somewhere that the reason he was turned down for the sequel was because his draft had more violence in it than Akkad wanted to be portrayed. I also imagine there would have been a fair amount of snappy hip dialogue. I don't know if he would have been the right man for the job or not but I do agree with Elgyn in that he would have definitely made something interesting. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Tarantino recently revealed that his HALLOWEEN 6 would've been much in the vein of the opening of HALLOWEEN 2 which he thinks is when the film is at its best, and that the whole hospital part is when it goes downhill (I disagree with him). He said that he would've had it following Michael and the Man in Black as they try to escape Haddonfield together, killing a bunch of people along the way. He says in one scene they would've ended up at a diner.... SHITTY IDEA!

Michael's a loner.... what would he have been debating the difference between Coke and Pepsi wit the man in black? I'm glad Tarantino steered clear. Let him fuck up more Grindhouse movies... or at least talk the talk about making war epics, sequels and prequels to previous films, and sequels to a ton of favorites... but then sit on his fat ass and slap his name on great Hong Kong flicks.

Yeah? If that's the case I'm glad he didn't work on it. Michael deserves to work alone. He shouldn't be making friends or teaming up with anybody. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

The man in black blew more dicks than VICTOR SALVA and so does anything surrounding the "THORN OCCULT" storyline where MICHAEL has "friends" looking after him etc.

WE DO NOT NEED TO KNOW WHERE HE COMES FROM, WHY HE DOES WHAT HE DOES, WHERE HE GOES WHEN HE'S NOT KILLING etc etc etc!

It makes the whole idea less scary. :(
